The Presidency has reacted to the meeting between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and his then Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, earlier today in Abeokuta.

In a statement released on twitter by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the Presidency is not surprised at the action of the former president to make a U-turn and support his political enemy.

Garba Shehu then went further to mention that the parties involved in the meeting will all lose together.

Read the statement below:

The Presidency has received the news of former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s predictable U-turn and somersault on the endorsement of the PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar, at a meeting Thursday, and to say that we are the least surprised by the well-rehearsed theatre.

They will lose together. Listening to the prepared statement of the former President after the meeting showed the usual ego trip and “I know it all” character of Chief Obasanjo.

In the first place, we dare to say that a pompous statement from the former President advising Nigerians on a vote against President Buhari is the best recommendation that can come at this time.

It also betrayed a lack of understanding of today’s politics which is about good governance.

The country voted for change in 2015 and a leader that ensures good governance which only President Buhari and the APC can provide.

Bent on these laudable goals, we will not allow ourselves to be distracted.

We are busy on various national issues including the restructuring and the diversification of the economy, fighting corruption, terrorism and other threats to national security; increasing the availability of electric power, improving education, health, and providing long-delayed infrastructure – roads, rail, airports and so forth.

The pride & arrogance of this clueless government have really shows how intolerant & anti-democratic/ progressive the APC can be in spurning the rights of Nigerians to freedom of choice & expression of intent.

Any wonder the government have been marked with anarchy, utter impunity, lawlessness, abuse of human rights, flagrant disobedience of court order/brigandage (NASS Invasion,Benue HOA, siege @ Ekiti Gov.House etc), antihuman policies, wanton bloodletting/killings & above all a complete bastardization of the Nigerian state

The retrograde amnesia in them will not let them recall that all these same Nigerians they're demonizing today were the same people they glorified while helping them on the way in their inordinate quest for power in 2015. undecided

Today most electorate having seen the lies, deceits, even the overt denial of their electoral promises & how the APC have thrown the country to a sorry state hence see no reason to continue to follow their destructive path but have now became their objects of political insult.

Please whosoever that have the interest of this nation @ heart should ensure this evil/satanic regime is phased out of our national life.Enough is enough. angry

Nigerians voted in the current administration for a reason and if Nigerians aren't satisfied with the performance of the current administration then we reserve the right to vote in a candidate of our choice, I just hope the election would be transparent and free of any form of rigging.

I just hope Garba shehu doesn't sing a different song by the end of February.

These scammer are still campaigning.Perhaps they're still deluded that the toga of 2015 is still helping their scam.

There are still areas, nationally and internationally, where you(Atiku) have to mend fences and make amends. You will know how to handle what is already out and what may yet be put out by the opposition. "

Seconded. Any vibrant digital youth is welcomed.

Say no to old analog politicians. They have failed the country and they will continue to fail the country. Anyone but GEJ brought in the biggest mistake of PMB. Now we want to repeat the same mistake by replacing PMB with anyone when we have over 180 million population.
