As political parties strategise for 2019 general election, the Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide has called on Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to prioritise his programme if he emerged president in 2019. Aremo Oladotun Hassan, the President of the group, who made the call on Thursday in Lagos, said Nigerians would not stop complaining until the economy, fiscal federation, security, education and infrastructure were repositioned.

Hassan, a lawyer, said that the PDP candidate must set out as an advocate for rule of law if he wins the 2019 Presidential Election.

The youth leader said that the restructuring agenda must be faced head on with setting up of A National Restructuring Affairs Commission with an Executive Bill.

“He (Atiku Abubakar) must be able to summon a greater patriotic will towards building and reviving our dying nation from economic stagnation and social insecurity.
“He must be able to implement the 26 per cent UN Budgetary standard allocation to the Education sector with a view to postulating and establishing a statutory principle of law by enacting the Education Right Bill into law.

“He must be able to have a master plan for transportation development from roads network development programmes,” he said. According to him, the establishment of a National Transport Park and Fares Management Authority is expected to regulate the amount spent daily on transport fares by Nigerians.

He added that Abubakar also needed to quickly review the Land Use Act laws into Land Licensing and Allotment Law via an Executive Bill, wherein all lands right must revert back to the land owners and communities.
[b]Hassan said that the government would only regulate its operations and management, while the Certificate of Occupancy and Consent should be replaced with Land Certificate of Ownership License.

“Also, the government must be ready to equip youths by granting 40 per cent youth affirmative action plan on appointment and involving the Nigerian youths in his government. “There must be a robust vocational training programme in information technology, Agriculture and other ancillary training, which will place and rank Nigeria as first world nation via economic revolution plan.

“Security architecture needs a total overhaul and ensure absolute neutrality in the discharge of their statutory duties,” he said. The youth leader said that more emphasis should be placed on rebuilding peace and national orientation on patriotism. He said that Atiku must choose a South-West youth with intellectual acumen for economy and law as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation since the zone lost the position of running mate.

According to him, paying attention to above issues and adequate representation of youths will galvanise support for PDP come 2019

It is a dangerous thing when learned persons in society propose solutions that are illogical and betray ignorance.

This lawyer called Aremo Hassan is ignorant.

Atiku used priviledged access in government to alter the quality of education negatively in this country where he cannibalized public education and redirected resources to establishing his American University through illegal backdoor dealing.

Aremo is asking that when Atiku regains access in government he should exercise similar privilege to internationalize his selfish interest under legitimacy of the UN global program for Education. This way he can do unethical things under legal coverage of the UN charter.

Aremo should be jailed for this suggestion.

Further along in his inept submission, he wants Atiku as President to set up a Restructuring Act. He doesn't know that this is not a responsibility of the Executive to set up Acts. The twist is highlighted where he wants Atiku to change the Land Use laws. Really? Aremo on one hand is asking Atiku to decentralize power...but then gave him central authority over Land Use.

What a Yoruba id1ot!

South West votes have never been locked down for anyone/any party in the past. Go and look at 2015 and 2011 election results again.
It was obvious that in 2011, Tinubu worked for Jonathan to get SW votes. 2015 Tinubu worked with Buhari to get SW votes. Now all SW states belong to APC, believe me, Buhari will get at least 70% votes from each state under SW.

Tinubu doesn't control all Yorubas. He can only use his influence to sway voters towards APC, but he can't actually determine by how much APC will win (if at all they will win SW) in 2019. In 2015, Jonathan was very much hated in the SW yet he got 45% of the votes. I can assure you that the % of votes won't differ much in 2019 from what it was in 2015.
SW is all APC... Story for the gods. We saw how APC won Osun. As it stands now, PDP will get 45-55% of the votes in Osun, Ekiti and Ondo in 2019.
I can also assure you that Buhari will never smell up to 60% of SW votes.

Typical of an APCs' : Tribalistic, vindictive, sore loosers ( we must win and nor other, either by hook or crook)Intimidation, boastful even when they have nothing to offer. Hypocrite calling another corrupt and a thief while half of PDP thieves who have also ruled for 16 years are in their party and they have suddenly become saint. Dull and shallow..in thinking; If they were deep and serious thinkers Nigeria will not be where it is today..we are worse off now than when APC got in..

Thousand have lost their lives becos your fanatic president is harmonizing herdsmen..and instead of flushing them out, he is rather advocating for more land across the country for them to inhabit so that they can start their killings and land acquisition across the nation..

A stupid party that does not realize that they are now in power but are still playing the role of opposition and the blame game continues..as if they were voted in to come and complain for life and live us more impoverish.

They have eroded the beautiful electoral institution that brought them into power..now what we have are manipulation, intimidation of the electoral system. Yes! remember Buhari niece is in INEC(being a nepotistic leader.why should we be surprised)..doing her job for Mr Integrity..now they want her back after she was removed from INEC operation department following the PDP protest.

Yet you come here and open your gutter mouth to talk of another corrupt person from another party , when we have the Tinubus', Ameachis', Akpabios, Uzo Kalus' etc..and the recently decamped Atiku,Saraki, who were innocent when they were in APC and has now suddenly become corrupt, becos they are no more in APC but the rest corrupt leaders/members who are still APC faithfuls, you would see as saint ..You are bloody hypocrites. and you should stop insulting our sensibility ..let those who wish to vote to corrupt Atiku do that without insult and intimidation and let those for corrupt and fanatic Buhari do same freely.that is why we are operating Democracy.
