On the contrary,GEJ conceded defeat to save thousands,if not millions of Nigerians that would have lost the lives if he had not,Secondly,he conceded for his own reputation, and also for his life(if you like),cause the west would have intervened militarily, cause i doubt if AU would have been able to handle any crisis in the africa most populous Nation, thirdly,he conceded cause of his love for our democracy, cause at that time if he didn't,the military would have seized power,....these and many more made that kind and humble Man to hand over power to the clueless party,so what Fashola is saying is out of point and funny too

Jonathan did a bad job agreed bt buhari did worse, by failing to access the extent of the situation b4 fighting everybody even the militants by trying to declare a senseless war with them ,this lead to the initial oil production crisis, it took Osinbajo to calm nerves and sort the dispute out of not it wud have been worse economic situation.

Then u recovered a lot of stolen funds bt yet did nothing with it, brought out bad/wrongly timed policies. His aides also started their own corrupt practices which he failed to address so is that all Jonathan’s fault?

Jonathan and the PDP spent 16 years in office, spent and looted $400 billion and Nigerians benefited nothing but abandoned projects all over the country, but they are better than PMB who is completing and commissioning all the PDP abandoned projects all over Nigeria is worse?

This is why it's always hard and painful to engage these shallow and unintelligent arguments.

Then PMB should have opted out of the race. Economic situation that bamboozied a highly learned and knowledgeable duo like Jonathan and Iweala was far beyond the NEPA bill president.

Using NEPA bill in lieu of Educational Certificate is Cow-ruption.

As Nigerians, let us all ensure we vote only for folks whose certificates we can see.

Any youth who has a certificate and votes for NEPA bill, must be a dunce, lazy and cow-rupt

I want igbos to go to war next year after Buhari is declared winner next year so we can settle this your hatred for other tribes once and for all. I am a Christian and I am ready to be invaded by the Fulani just to stick it to you igbos.

We also want to see what igbos will do to help Atiku after you have alienated the rest of the country with your hate speech.

Fashola is in order with his statements of late because two can play the game. Next year's elections is a do or die and Buhari must win.

No one is going to war next year. Buhari will lose and go back to daura. Thanks.

The Minister for Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has said former President Goodluck Johnathan only conceded defeat after the 2015 elections because he knew the nation would witness economic recession soon.

Mr Jonathan, before the announcement of the final results, in a move that shocked many political pundits, conceded defeat to the current president, Muhamadu Buhari, after a keenly contested polls.

That was the first time an incumbent would be losing the top seat (and conceding victory) to an opposition party in Nigeria.

Mr Jonathan has been celebrated globally for his action, which many believe saved the country from political turmoil.

The economy plunged into recession shortly after in 2015. The recession raged in 2016 and through late 2017 when the nation then emerged from it.

However, Mr Fashola, a former governor of Lagos State, said on Thursday at a South-west town hall meeting that Mr Jonathan only relinquished power because he wanted to avoid being at the helm of affairs during the recession.

The meeting was organised by the Minister for Information, Lai Mohammed, and held at the Emeritus Professor Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall, opposite University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Mr Fashola at the meeting also said the Goodluck government not only plunged the nation into recession but pushed it into debts.

”What was left behind were massive debts owed to contractors who had not been paid for three to five years and who had laid off thousands of workers and shut down equipment and plants.

”That was one of the reasons why the economy first went into, and, I suspect, one of the reasons they (Goodluck administration) quickly conceded defeat,” Mr Fashola said.

Now it's obvious that association with Buhari turns people to people with the IQ of a cow.

Bloody hell, a SAN uttering this rubbish. shocked

So if he was afraid of imminent recession, why did he contest 2015 election? I mean he could have just saved election money for his pocket and walk away.

Okonjp Iweala also assessed the system to warn governors about sharing excess crude oil money and save in case of recession.

Fashola should leave media lies to Lai Mohammed. Lai Mo is better at it.

its God that rules in the affairs of man. Against all odds buhari came to power. We give the people of the southeast no sense of belonging and still refuse to let them go. you don't know what is actually happening in this country.
The stolen funds recovered is from where,
From the corrupt people you love so much, and that stolen funds met for infrastructure did cause recession,
And the corrupt people are still dragging the case in court till tomorrow,
Efcc was able to recovered 1tr naira,
And 500b naira was added to 2017 budget and 500b naira in 2018 budget.,
Moreover, you can see how the budget has increased from 4.2tr naira to 7.2tr naira in 2016, and increase to 8.2tr naira in 2017 and increase to 9.2tr naira in 2019.
How can you explain this?
You can see this government has really tried.

The Nigerian military built many of our major infrastructures even though they did not have access to the largest oil earnings in the history of Nigeria from 1999-2015 under PDP/OBJ/GEJ.

The military built and completed major infrastructures, but PDP/OBJ/GEJ left nothing but abandoned projects left and right.

PMB can fight corruption and promise to fight corruption, but at the end of the day, he's not the judges collecting bribes to grant frivolous injunctions and extensions on behalf of crooked and corrupt politicians. He is the head of the executive arm of government, not the head of the judiciary arm of government.

PMB can not jail people just because he's the president of Nigeria, that's the job of the judiciary and if you want looters to go to jail, ask the government and the legislature to set up a separate court system to jail looters which I'm sure you and the crooked and corrupt legislature will not support.
