Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has approached President Muhammadu Buhari to attend to the needs of Nigerians instead of donating money to other countries.

The previous VP said that Nigeria's assets ought to be utilized for the nation and its kin and not as gifts to other people.

He said that the President and his group ought to be more reasonable with national assets.

Atiku, in a statement  by its media office in Abuja on Sunday asked why a nation whose pioneers had promised to offer its national resources would even now be giving cash without thinking about its suggestions.

He said that the President as of late guaranteed to give $500,000 to Guinea Bissau, alongside other material gifts.

He stated, "As of late, we had cause to guide the Buhari organization to be more judicious with national assets after the legislature proclaimed its goal to offer national resources worked by past organizations to subsidize their the same old thing 2019 spending plan.

"Evidently, as opposed to offer notice to our ace bono enthusiastic prompt, the Buhari organization is continuing in the monetary iniquity that has seen them annihilate an once flourishing economy.

"In the most recent case, the Buhari government has reported that it is making a $500,000 gift to Guinea Bissau, alongside other material gifts.

"Our reaction is to inquire as to why a country that has been formally named as the world base camp for extraordinary destitution, will give her assets to others as opposed to utilizing them to take care of squeezing household issues?

"This is a similar government that is so destitute that it has so far obtained ₦13 trillion out of three years putting our economy in considerably more noteworthy hazard.

“How prudent is it to go about taking loans from whomsoever cares to lend you money and then turn around to give out those same monies even when your own people are suffering the worst forms of poverty they have ever endured?

“We call on the Buhari administration to cut their coat according to their cloth. He should stop donating like Father Christmas. He should attend to then need of Nigerians.

Equatorial Guinea to provide financial support to Guinea-Bissau's legislatures

04.07.2018

Guinea-Bissau's Prime Minister, Aristides Gomes, said today that Equatorial Guinea will provide financial support for the country's parliamentary elections.

Aristides Gomes talked to reporters at a press conference to make a balance of his visit to Equatorial Guinea last week.

"We have shared with the Equatorial Guinea authorities the evolution of the process that should lead Guinea Bissau to elections and political stabilization, and due to the situation, the President has promised to participate financially in the preparation of the elections in Guinea-Bissau," he told reporters.

The Guinean Prime Minister said that the amount of support has not been set yet and it should be announced soon.

"We are waiting at all times for this amount to be announced to our authorities", he said.

Aristides Gomes added that the cooperation between the two countries was also addressed in the meetings he had with the authorities from Equatorial Guinea, including the country's President, Teodoro Obiang.

"We discussed some ideas and one of them concerns the possibility of the airline (from Equatorial Guinea) making a connection between Guinea-Bissau and abroad. We think it could contribute to increasing Guinea-Bissau's connection to the world", he added.

In the context of the organization of parliamentary elections in Guinea-Bissau, scheduled for November 18th, Aristides Gomes has visited Guinea- Bissau partners in order to secure support for the ballot to take place on schedule.

My anger is not about the donation itself, it's the purpose of the donation. Buhari didn't donate to help the people of Guinea Bissau in fighting disease or hunger, he donated a whole $500k towards their elections, what kind of stupidity is that? sad

I am afraid your anger is misplaced.

In July of this year, ECOWAS did encourage member states to provide financial support for the legislative elections scheduled in November. Geddit?

Na so.. I really don't understand the idea behind giving out money you don't have to impress people who don't care and later turning around to go beg or borrow.

Atiku doesn't understand a lot of things. He doesn't understand how international politics work and he doesn't understand foreign policy.

This is how he was talking nonsense about restructuring before Osinbajo finished him in that open letter. Since that day, he has refused to say a word about restructuring.

By the time Osinbajo starts with Atiku, the entire blockheads in PDP won't be able to help him.
