Why do you attribute tax receipts for production solely to trade wars? Some would say more money in the hands of people would cause them to spend more, thereby increasing demand. And more money in the hands of companies implies they have more funds to invest in the production that will meet the increased demand. Hence the increased production generated increased excise tax revenues.



As seen in the first link I posted, it is true that tax receipts from corporations reduced dramatically, 35% in fact. However, tax receipt from corporations typically account for about 10% of total tax receipts.

Why are you trying to insinuate that the sharp drop in corporations' tax receipts is a big factor in the overall 5% drop in total tax revenue?

Anyway, it's possible that this time, tax cuts may not lead to increased tax revenue. Data from two quarters are insufficient to make any strong conclusion. Let's keep our fingers crossed and revisit this when more data becomes available.

Well, truth be told, I did not look at the trend in FY16 and 17, and I was quick to attribute the spike in import tax receipts to the trade wars but common! the sharp upward spike is a clear anomaly and I can't think of any other thing that would have caused that.

And why is Mick Mulvaney slashing funding for comunity projects like "meals on wheels"? More like "hey people, this is the new reality" They need to review those corporate tax cuts, if not.....

I've had a rethink. I believe you're correct here. I still think it's too early to assess the impact of tax cuts. Yes I asked for current evidence and you provided it. I respect that.

And Hitler did not roll out policies that was of great benefit to Germany? Hitler moved Germany from the effects of the first world war to a thriving industrial economy under 5 years.

Trump is following the exact footsteps of Hitler, he even branded himself a Nationalist, he only needed to add Socialist and he will be at par with Hitler.

Now that Trump had lost the rubber stamp house, he will be more openly dictatorial in order to rule. I am 100% sure he will start a war before the next election to shore up his popularity.
