AMEN!
Rijo02:
Inland Landing Experience

The landing office is about 10 mins walk from my place. Appointment time was 10:30 am, so I left my house at 9:30, stopped to take passport photo before continuing to the IRCC Hamilton office. When I got there, I needed to enter from market street entrance (reserved for PR landing) but I missed it. Had to find my way again.
Upon entering at 10:15 am, I suppose the officer was attending to those with 9:30am appointment. Funny enough, everyone were in pair (mostly family) or had an interpreter.
When it was about 10:30am, the officer came to check for the presence of all the candidates who were supposed to land at that time. I think there were 7 persons of which one person was not present (I was the last person on the last). The process started about 10:40am and before 11:20am, I was done.
She said the PR card will arrive within 4 to 5 weeks because of the upcoming holiday and that I can go and switch my SIN number immediately. When I inquired about the OHIP, she said that I cannot apply until I receive my health card. That was contrary to what I have been told. So I went to Service Ontario to see if I can apply for the Health card immediately and Yes I could. I did that and it will take effect after 3 months. Afterwards, I went to Service Canada for my Permanent SIN number.......took some time though but I just wanted to get it done!

Now waiting for my spouse's passport to be stamped, COPR issued and returned so we can get a flight. The prices are going higher by the day! I can't thank God enough...............The holiday has almost started.

I wish everyone success as you wait out this seemingly unending PR process.......definitely it will end with joy!

CONGRATULATION!

Writing this, it seems as if my wife and I didn't have terrible moments with IRCC. On the contrary we did. Got married Aug 2017. Wifey was refused OWP twice. I am studying in Canada, hence applied for PR as inland and was hoping for 2 months PR approval. Did it happen, No. It didn't even come in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and even 6th month. Crazy right? Even outland applicants were getting PR in 2 months. I took almost 7 months to get an ADR for proof of relationship. Afterwards, they gave the PR. This is after 17 months I haven't been with my newly wedded wife. But now that PR has been approved, all the pains are gone!
So, at your respective challenges at the moment (IELTS, waiting beyond the processing time, review required, etc), your pains will soon be over........Keep the faith!

Sincerely I can relate with the bolded part 100%.
It's unexplainable and nobody should go through such pain honestly.

Special congratulationssssssssss mate.
Now the party begins grin

Hi everyone,Pls I need your opinion about an issue.
I have two different work histories which sum up to 3 years.
My question is this- Do you think I should calculate the number of months for each work or let the visa officer do the calculation. For instance, should I state in each job reference letter that I have worked for 17 months in my first job and 19 months in my second job.
Is it better to leave it for the visa officer to calculate it?
I will appreciate your reply. Thanks

Is ieltsonlinetest.com an adequate website to prepare?I've been using them for a while now for listening and reading. Any additional websites close to their format.
It was the only one I used. It was making sense for me so I didn't bother looking elsewhere.
But I've heard good things about IELTS advantage.

@manlikegb ....Thanks bro
manlikegb:

@phemocheee, I don't think there any need to do a gift deed anymore since its been in your account for that long. Its as good as its yours since forever. Please invest the money already. Imagine you could have made an extra 300k plus if you had fixed it in an investment for 6months. Investment letter from the investment is good to use for EE as well, people on here use treasury bills certificate for POF. You can still include your SOA as well to show proof salary earnings et al. So its a win win for you. Not too late to take action. Hurry.

@Chibuiked and @manlikegb ....You guys perfectly understand the situation...I think I will forget about the gift deed in order not to raise unnecessary dust...Thanks guys
Chibuiked:

Well I think the 3 million transaction won't reflect in his/her SOA cos this happend 7 months ago.
The SOA will only capture transactions within the past 6 months and this won't be an issue since the transaction occurred 7 months ago.
The 7 million will simply reflect as "closing amount or opening amount" on the 6 months SOA.

Gift deed in this case would actually raise unnecessary dust since the SOA won't capture the said transaction anyways.

I think i agree with Manlikegb.

My opinion @ phemocheee

If no gift deed, where did the cash come from and entered the account? People don't want gift deeds as if they made the cash themselves.

For this Q: what additional qualifications did they need to get to practice there and all related questions, check here and read the law part.

For the other Qs, after reading the above, you can ask in the thread.
Thanks alot. It was very helpful.

Hmm...... so there's a form of conspiracy theory surrounding this IELTS test. I always thought they were transparent to the core or is it just the Nigerian factor attached to it?

I always thought so too

Why do Nigerians bastardise things?

PR under which program?

It means you are close to approval and can start using pre-arrival services.

So just thought to drop a piece of information here that may be valuable to someone... a friend of mine who has no Masters degree, assessed her LL.B and B.L with WES... and she entered it in her profile as Professional degree regardless of what WES wrote in the assessment... so she got the points and long story short, she got PPR and landed Canada today... so if you don’t want to want for IQAS delay... WES is an option but you must assess both UNi and Law School! I hope this helps someone!

Funny enough, if you evaluate only the university law degree with WES, I still feel you can still claim points for professional degree. Simply state it as that when you fill out your online form.

Dear Nairaland fam, please I need ur help with these confusing questions. I’m putting together my docs for submission.

1. I received some funds from friends into my mutual fund account. Do I need to present a mutual fund statement of account and reference letter or only reference letter will suffice.

2. I also received some money into my dollar account, about a 1m in naira. Do I need deed of gift? It was a cash payment so no narration from anywhere? How else can I explain it?

3. The only form of loan I have is my outstanding credit card balance, will it affect my POF?

4. Must I get a letter of non-indebtedness from each bank that I submit it’s statement?

Thx in adv.

Can Education degree (B.ED or BSC(ED) be regarded as a professional degree?.

Hello people... I'm currently on a CRS of 432 so I intend to start a diploma to be able to have an additional certificate. It's a Professional Diploma in Education run by FCE Akoka. It runs for two semesters and a maximum of 40 credits is stipulated for the two semesters, including teaching practice. I'm about to pay the fees on Monday but i don't know if WES would evaluate it as equivalent to Canadian diploma. Is there a way I can know before going ahead with it?

Sincerely, I am beginning to get jittery about this WES evaluation.

I have a professional Masters from a recognized university in Benin republic, and sent this to WES for evaluation. However, seeing the comments here about WES underevaluating some degrees, it pro.pted me to check with their evaluating tool and I can see that they only have a one year option for schools in Benin republic when trying out this tool, and this eventually evaluates a Masters from Benin as 4 years Bachelor degree.

I'm greatly confused here, as I made a mistake in filling out the WES Application form. Rather than selecting "Specialized graduate program", I just selected "Masters' option. I can see from the the free evaluation tool that "Specialized graduate program" translates to an evaluation from WES as Masters!

Should I contact WES about this to have it changed? If WES evaluates my masters as 4 year Bachelor's program I will lose a great deal of points and drop far below the 443 I am trying to claim.

Someone advise me please.

PS: My masters degree is a 2 year program in Project Management.

I'm not sure I fully understand you but I believe if you contact wes they'll make the correction you're requesting for as per specialised graduate degree.

Secondly, in a worst case scenerio where wes undervalues the masters degree, you will still have two or more certificates as per two bachelor degrees. [s]That's only two points lower than masters[/s] (wrong info, there's a significant difference in points).

All the best.

Profile says Medical passed, additional docs says "NA" (I submitted new PCC & schedule A) . I am yet to hear from Accra, how long does it take for Stamping at Accra. It is 19days already since I submitted my Passport. does it take this long? Please I need input from seniors and does who have gotten their COPR. Thanks

Congrats on your PPR/CoPR.
