They were well informed about the attack before it took place. Boko Haram are warming up for 2019 elections, just like they did for 2015 elections.

They met stiff resistance by the military under president jonathan a few months to the elections.

The only reason I'm not cursing Boko Haram is that our military created this problem. If they aren't so happy killing any group they don't like their ideology, we wouldn't have had this problem. Boko Haram was not violent until the military kept attacking and killing them. Now look at it, it's expanded to a level they can't stop. I hope the future leaders are learning from this.

They said they caught fire and did not know where they came from. So it's either an inside job or they had no outposts. You don't let anyone creep on you without any fore knowledge. Simple investments in regular drones with night vision, get 4 with rotational drone 'pilots can spot an intrusion from miles away.

They also radioed for air support which didn't come until hours later. There should be fighter jets on standby at the Maiduguri airport that can teach any part of the state in 20 to 30min tops.
