Yahoo message is a free instant messaging app provided by Yahoo! When downloaded each user has a generic "Yahoo ID. This app has been existing since 1998.

Yahoo was one of the few IM that popularize " Internet fraud" in Nigeria which we all know as YAHOO! YAHOO! The addiction was 2Xaddicting than coke or any hard drugs. . Gave guys sleepless night working online "Gee mā sùn... ��� If you not familiar with yahoo you probably a kid then.


2: GTALK




Google Talk also known as Gchat , Gmessage was an instant messaging service that provided both text and voice communication. Gtalk was one of the first app that offer free VoIP. Started August 25, 2005.

Nigerian couldn't resist it's free premium service which come with free voice and video call. Back in 2005 voice and video call was limited in Nigeria. Now imagine how valuable this app was.


3: ESKIMI



Eskimi is a social network where you can meet and chat with people from all round the world.
Eskimi has been existing since 2009. I remember back then when this site was one of the best social networking site in Africa. Easily chat with people from all African countries, get eskimi credit and so on. Then it was fun.

2go is a free mobile social network application developed by a tech company in Cape Town, South Africa. With over 50 million registered users across Africa.

Nigerian were so crazy about this app. that we topped #1 most active users with 13 million active users. 2go made dating hookup pretty easy so far you ranked top. MASTER, VETERAN, plenty of go credit and you active in a group. If you know you know.. *winks*

Nimbuzz an instant messaging app available on smart phones, tablets and personal computers. Nimbuzz has 150 million users in 200 countries.

You can make cheap international voice calls, send unlimited chat messages, share files etc across popular messengers. In the early 2000 this app was quite addicting mostly for it's VoIP and international chat.
If you don't know nimbuzz or you never use this app you missed the fun.

BlackBerry Messenger, also known as BBM, is a proprietary Internet-based instant messenger and videotelephony application that allows messaging and voice calls between BlackBerry, iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile users.

When BBM was newly introduced back in 2005 it was meant for only BlackBerry users. Then BlackBerry was the most expensive smartphone in the late 2000s. BB was so tempting to own lot of people stole to own one, slay Queen's did what they're good at doing to own one, some use there salary to buy one, turned good girls into bad girl... When was mobile solutions introduced in Nigeria that you used certain mobile applications in the 70s? The world didn't even know about camera phones until year 2000. Well done oooo cheesy
