Lies from the pit of hell, that project has been on going long before PMB. It has absolutely nothing to do with this administration, stop ascribing every project to the government. If this government was involved in this project in anyway, everyone would have long heard about it.

You don't just go and snap pictures of on going project and claim it for political purpose, what kind of desperation is this? I am from Rivers and very much in know of this project.

Shame on the moderator who pushed this to the front page without correct findings.

Niger Delta Exploration & Production Plc (NDEP) is Nigeria’s first integrated oil and gas investment company.
Founding Chairman, Late Chief Godwin Aret Adams, a former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and other highly respected professionals came together to initiate a truly indigenous public oil company.

Between them which one is supposed to do better or even more?

Please be reminded that PMB was not elected to let us know about the failure of his predecessors..There is nothing new there...Thats why he was elected to put things right not to keep resurrecting or rehashing the past!

You cant change anything from the past, but that can be done by moving forward!

However, using the entire tenure to rubbish an administration when you are still yet to do even close to fair is worse than stupidity and you supporting rather than challenging its leadership only points to your obvious affiliation which to me is worse than asininity!

It was formerly a 1000bpd modular refinery before the FG partnered with them and upgraded it to a 10000 BPD refinery.

Coming here to say the FG has no hand in it is a fat lie.

It was until the FG came on board that work picked up and delivery would be by march.

How did FG partner d company to help it increase its capacity from 1,000bpd to 10,000bpd? When did d FG do this partnering? In what capacity did d FG "come on board"?

The Federal Government on Wednesday disclosed plans to unveil the first modular refinery in the country in the first week of November.

The refinery, owned by Niger Delta Petroleum Resources, in Ogbele, Rivers State, is expected to refine 10,000 barrel of crude oil daily.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Niger Delta, Mr Edobor Iyamu, stated this in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, during the opening session of a media workshop on ‘Agenda for the Niger Delta New Vision’.

The workshop, which was organised by the Niger Delta New Vision in the Office of the Vice-President, had the theme: ‘Partnership for regional development and nation building’.

According to Iyamu, the modular refinery is an upgrade from 1,000 bpd capacity to 10,000 bpd.

He also stated that prior to the unveiling of the upgraded refinery in Rivers State in November, a ground-breaking ceremony would be performed by the Presidency for the construction of another 5,000 bpd modular refinery on October 4 in Obigwe, Ohaji, Imo State.

Iyamu stated, “The Niger Delta Petroleum Resources in Ogbele, Rivers State, has established an additional 10,000 bpd modular refinery. Civil works and installation of refinery are almost completed.

“The company already has a pioneer 1,000 bpd mini refinery in the same site and it is expected to be inaugurated in the first week of November by the Presidency.

“There’s also the Walter Smith modular refinery that is to be established with a capacity of 5,000 bpd in Imo State. The ground-breaking has been fixed for October 4.”

He said the vision was part of the Federal Government’s 16-point agenda for the development of the region, which was already being carried out in phases.

Others include the Ogoni clean-up project, gas flaring commercialisation policy, and the establishment up of the Maritime University in Delta State.

The workshop, which is the third in the series, had in attendance journalists and civil society organisations drawn from Abia, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states.

If it was a partnership, it would have so stated in d article. Usually, d FG partners oils companies by providing counterpart funding which they call joint venture partnership. As you can see, there are 2 modular refineries on same site. One is 1000bpd which is privately owned. The other one which is 10000 BPD is a partnership involving the FG which is why they are talking about only that and they also went ahead to mention other modular refineries involving them as well in IMO state, etc.

You can clearly see the parts I highlighted in red where it says and I quote

He said the vision was part of the Federal Government’s 16-point agenda for the development of the region, which was already being carried out in phases.

If the project is part of the FGs agenda then how is it solely a private affair?
