I disagree with the way and manner Buhari "suspended" him.

Onnoghen should have allowed NJC meeting to hold on the 15th anyway.

Our constitution is flawed . Their should be laid out procedure on how to deal with a CJN under investigation.

This is completely useless, Buhari cannot eat his cake and have it. This is our hard earn democracy that we are talking about, we can not allow the same Incompetent fellow that destroyed our democracy in 1983, to repeat the same silly feat again.

This man is acting unilaterally against the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Does he think the country is his personal property?

First, as head of the executive arm of Government, he was so clueless that he didn't know he was to carry out a background check of the so called CJN Onoghen, even though it took him almost eternity to approve his installation, IF he has did, he would have used the undeclared account as a reason for not installing him and that is when we would clap for him as the Anti corruption Caesar.

Secondly he is at war with the NASS, the only constitutionally recommended body that could have ordered the suspension of the CJN, in a case whereby the NJC can not recommend the sack of the CJN, now he finds himself in a dilemma and making a complete mockery of the entire constitution and Nigeria at large.

For some empty skulls that will come here and cite the case of ex president Jonathan and Justice Salami, note that it was the NJC that that recommended that the then president should have Salami suspended.

Buhary keeps giving us abundant reason why we should kick him out, and I think it is in the best interest of our nation to vote him out in the forthcoming elections

Justice Tanko Ibrahim has really embarrassed himself because in March 2018, he was among members of the NJC that ruled in the case involving the illegal removal of the Abia Chief Judge that "when a Chief Judge is removed illegally in a state, any judge who agrees to take over has committed an infraction which will attract disciplinary measures".
As things stand, the NJC may charge him for infraction

That is simple and intelligent question. I am sure those supporting the shameful act of the suspended CJN would not comment meaningful, rather they will heap insults.

The problem with your statement is that he has not been charged with any crime except failure to declare said assets. The rest has been a media free for all and you are judging without due recourse to the law. Innocent until "proven" guilty and even at that due process must be followed.

if the case gets to the supreme court of Nigeria,Justice tanko will only be one of the 5 man justices panel that will sit on the case and I am sure the Justice's will not want to lay a bad precedence for the judiciary, if the acclaimed new CJN compromise his position, I am quite sure other Justice's will not follow suit.

Just contemplating... Will Justice Walter Onnoghen ever get JUSTICE from Justice Tanko Muhammed now headed Supreme Court considering the fact that....

1. He is the acting CJN and a potential CJN in the making.

2. He is the new chairman of the NJC by virtue of being the acting CJN in the interim, space created by the suspension of Onnoghen and formerly the Deputy Chairman of the Council who can act in the absence of the chairman.

3. He will also be the person that will constitute the panel that will hear justice Onnoghen's appeal for reinstatement and quashing of the CCT charges preferred against him if the matter finally gets to the Supreme Court.


For me this is a very tricky one for the new acting CJN justice Tanko Muhammed.

Can Buhari suspend/remove the Senate President? NO. Therefore, Buhari can not suspend or remove the CJN.

What Buhari could have done to be on the part of law was to bring up the criminal allegations against the CJN before the NJC and the NASS, and then lobby the NJC and the NASS to vote for CJN removal/suspension.
