Why do you people like deceiving yourself? If you are truly a supporter of the rule of law, the right advice to give Onnoghen at this point is for him to appeal the ruling of the CCT. Abusing the president will not change anything.

Did FG headed by that Incopi appeal the verdict of an appeal court on the case of the CJN ?

Bubu is an epidemic we shall cure with our PVC come next month

You have simply justified Onnoghen suspension. Since, he can't be in the panel hence , the reason for his suspension.
The panel is usually made up of other justices asides the person being accused, without suspending him they can still carry out a thorough investigation and reach a decision within the NJC which will be communicated to the president...he did not need to be suspended for investigation to be done

Please show us where the law prohibit president from suspending a CJN? I just want to learn. quote author=hyfr post=75120810]I am not saying Justice Onnoghen is innocent, but the law of the land has laid down rules for evicting or suspending him, so why is the president not abiding by this rule, a case that came up about a week or so and he's acted so quickly without the constitutional powers, this move is suspicious and has a motive behind it, i believe the president is afraid of losing the elections, if not tell me why the case of Ganduje, whom the whole world, even foreign communities has got a glimpse of his atrocities, yet he is walking free under the guise of immunity, what about akpabio, Amaechi, the vice president and the rest of them, why is their cases redundant up till now? The CJN is under immunity until the law proves otherwise, so why is the president acting against the law. This country is doomed and i see anyone supporting this insanity as a Devils advocate[/quote]

Justice Onnoghen would have constituted the judges that would sit in his case at the supreme court #not so good#.

The acting CJN is the second in line in the supreme court and the NJC.

I disagree with the way and manner Buhari "suspended" him.

Onnoghen should have allowed NJC meeting to hold on the 15th anyway.

Our constitution is flawed . Their should be laid out procedure on how to deal with a CJN under investigation.

Hello Nigerians let us try Olawepo or Sowore.

Sowore is the way forward. Take it back!

Unfortunately, the head of the third arm of government (The Judiciary) is appointed by the President according to our constitution. The president can suspend his appointee according to Mike Ozekhome in 2014, so what has changed?

Lawyers say CCT ex parte order may be fraudulent: https://www.nairaland.com/4985582/lawyers-say-cct-ex-parte-order

Falana in a statement said, “The ex parte order is a suspect document, as the motion ex parte on which it was predicated was allegedly filed on January 9, 2019, while the substantive charge against the Chief Justice was filed at the registry of the Code of Conduct Tribunal on January 11, 2019. Furthermore, the counsel who argued the motion is not indicated in the ex parte order.”
On his part, Odinkalu observed, “When a motion is filed in a court or tribunal, it bears the name of the lawyer or person filing it.

“The motion has to be formally moved or argued on a date fixed by the court. In this case of #Onnoghen, the motion for his removal bears no name and the order doesn’t say who moved it.

“So, to sum things up, #Nigeria’s President @MBuhari, who has no recent memory of having obeyed any court order, purports to procure the removal of the CJN based on a petition that was not investigated, a charge that was not prosecuted and an ex-parte application that was not moved.”

Keep supporting a fraudulent APC govt.

Remember, the CJN was only suspended which is not unconstitutional to allow him clear his name, if he's not found guilty as charged, he'll simply be reinstated.

CJN Cannot be suspended by the Executive without consultation with the NJC.

...And now that it has been discovered that the Executive used a forged ex parte order to suspend the CJN, what do you say about the Executive?

The NJC, yes if it was a judicial misconduct, which assets declaration isn't.
The CJN being a public officer and CCT being the only constitutional authority to deal with this type of issues has advised the president (who can suspend his appontee) to do the needful.

CJN is a special appointee whose matter cannot be dealt with without input from the NJC.

If you agree that democracy is built on separation of power and check and balances, then know that the CJN is special.

That's why I said it is unfortunate the constitution does not make the CJN a special appointee.
