She might not be able to get there, those above her have longer retirement years than her, so she will likely retire while at least 1 above her is still in power

If he is the next most senior officers; then let him take over.
How a CJN tell the whole world he FORGOT to declear some assets. That’s enough ground to retire him. Ignorance of the law is no excuse talk more about “forgetting”.
Our ethnic sentiments has really gotten the best out of us. Not like he jumped the queue. The North is very vast and have hugely populated the polity.

Competence and next in line over the useless federal character that has not gotten us anywhere over the years.

how come the next most senior officer don't take over in the police?

or other agencies

buhari instead will retire as many to put his aboki choice undecided

This country is FINISHED

She likely won’t become CJN. She’ll retire before the ACJN who is her senior on the bench.

What u(his excellency) failed to realise is that the next three judges after Tanko will all retire before him, so, it is the number six judge that will take over from Tanko except for death.

Her chances are slim.
Looking at the date of retirement, she is expected to retire in 2022.

Op, point of correction, the Chief Justice of the federation, Justice Walter Onnoghen, cannot be suspended.

Buhari's desperate attempt to remove the chief Justice is an exercise in futility. All lovers of democracy will resist it.
all these resist resist you guys throw around with keyboard.

How do you resist? Just sit at home and start making empty threats or organise some mumbo jumbo protest with placard?.

Is this the best of resistance you threaten

Buhari erred

He CANNOT unilaterally suspend a substantive Chief Justice of the Federation under any guise

Press please note: 'allegedly suspended' or some other descriptive to be used.

Do not be a part (willing or unwilling) of this rape of democracy.

There is only one way outlined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for suspending OR removing a Chief Justice EVEN when it is a matter emanating via Code of Conduct.

BUHARI REQUIRES TWO-THIRDS of the SENATE.

This desecration of the constitution he swore to uphold is gross misconduct by Buhari and an IMPEACHABLE offence

http://www.nigeria-law.org/ConstitutionOfTheFederalRepublicOfNigeria.htm#FederalExecutive

292. (1) A judicial officer shall not be removed from his office or appointment before his age of retirement except in the following circumstances -

(a) in the case of -

(i) Chief Justice of Nigeria, President of the Court of Appeal, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Chief Judge of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Grand Kadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and President, Customary Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, by the President acting on an address supported by two-thirds majority of the Senate.

(ii) Chief Judge of a State, Grand Kadi of a Sharia Court of Appeal or President of a Customary Court of Appeal of a State, by the Governor acting on an address supported by two-thirds majority of the House of Assembly of the State,

Praying that he be so removed for his inability to discharge the functions of his office or appointment (whether arising from infirmity of mind or of body) or for misconduct or contravention of the Code of Conduct;

(b) in any case, other than those to which paragraph (a) of this subsection applies, by the President or, as the case may be, the Governor acting on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council that the judicial officer be so removed for his inability to discharge the functions of his office or appointment (whether arising from infirmity of mind or of body) or for misconduct or contravention of the Code of Conduct.

(2) Any person who has held office as a judicial officer shall not on ceasing to be a judicial officer for any reason whatsoever thereafter appear or act as a legal practitioner before any court of law or tribunal in Nigeria.

PDP trying so hard to whip up unnecessary sentiment to cause a national chaos. APC on the other hand wants to hide under anticorruption fight to pay back PDP in thier very own coin.. PDP suspended Justice Ayo Salami and CBN Governor Sanusi claiming bullcrap now look how it feels for them on the other side
But to be honest do you believe Walter the PDP judge would give APC any favourable outcome?

Check the records he is a notorious PDP apologists in his judgement. At least he has a moral issue and it was the next most senior that replaced him not someone not in line which would have been political
