Hi nairalanders,I have a big problem of indecision here.I am working in a not very popular consulting firm that pays averagely well and has a wonderful work environment, very relaxed and well organised.Right now i have an offer to come and resume Diamond bank training.I am confused.Should I continue with the Consulting firm or go to the bank that pays much better? |

Welcome to NL! It depends on the pay differential. If it is significantly better in favour of the bank then depending on your circumstances that is something you must take into consideration. Money isnt everything though. Career progression also counts for a lot. And it sometimes can be poor in banks if you are at the entry level. To really make your way in a bank you have to have specialisation or get in on a fast track. You will have great potential to diversify at the consulting firm though. This may lead to you becoming an attractive management prospect in many sectors at some point down the road. If you have an agreeable to supervisor at the firm, have a discussion. They might consider matching any pay increase the bank might offer. Good luck with it though. |
