Bode Rhodes-Vivour will be nominated as the new CJN.

Since he is from Lagos can we refer to him as a Tinubu boy?
I've heard that everything from Lagos belongs to Tinubu.

No, Onnoghen and PDP are the biggest losers in all these. Their contract to help Wike cage APC in Rivers state and to steal Buhari's victory next month through the supreme court have been rendered null and void cheesy

He is a fair justice. He will bring sanity to the supreme court that Onnoghen bastardized and turned to ariaria market.

The reason we have refused to grow in the nation is because of issues like this. I am not a fan of the enforcer but truth be told Onnoghen is a corrupt judge. If y'all don't see anything wrong in his removal,it means y'all are part of Nigeria's problem. He forgot to declare several accounts filled with various foreign currency. Call it witch hunting, colour it political' the offence stands and he must face the music. The number one moral compass of a nation is indicted on corruption charges and y'all are ready to defend him. Rule of law my foot,do we really have any working laws in this country? Most of u supporting the CJN can't afford to eat comfortably tonight, yet you defend a thief vehemently. I am not an APC or PDP member, my hope is in God Almighty. I dare say we are cowards in this clime,we can't confront govt on ASUU strike,on NEPA, on Health care. But you are ready to defend a man that lost his moral code to love of money. The judiciary is the most corrupt in this country "if you know you know" please if u have choosen to be blind to the truth, keep it up. I believe y'all will come to ur senses soon

Most of you guys here just rant ignorantly online without basic knowledge. Tanko would only say he presented himself to be sworn in "in acting capacity" pending the completion of the hullabaloo surrounding the dismissal of the CJN due to the fact that the office of the CJN can not remain vacant. If the CJN is not able to discharge his duties for whatever reasons, of course it is the deputy who comes in to act on his behalf. Instead of you guys to get knowledge, you keep letting politics, bigotry, ethnicity blind your mind of reasoning. Tanko has done no wrong and if Onnoghen eventually leaves, he becomes the CJN with no issues at all

Aluta continua.
Waiting continues.
Eyes open, fingers crossed but things may remain the same, welcome to Nigeria.

I knew the moment garba invited and brought in a non a member of the njc to the meeting that the cabal had something up their sleeves they introduced tension and some squabbles that made it possible for them to bypass all the supreme court judges and make a retired appeal court judge the chairman of a gathering of judges oh the apex court. Shame!!!!

It i is most curious that not even a mention was given of the violation of the constitution by the federal government even though the gathering agreed in principle that a breach been made but the government was not mentioned talk less of being made accountable. It is obvious that they have delibrately left the government / executive out of the picture leaving them with no question to answer or with no feeling of wrong doing the gathering did not even spell out the illegality of the seat of the acting cjn. such an assault on the constitution would have warranted an automatic reversal without a benefit of the doubt given to either the benefactor or the government but in this case a response to fake accusations have been introduced and the acting cjn requested to respond to a petition. Therefore it is right to conclude that the meeting was just called for the njc to request response to petitions written against the cjn and the impostr while the infractions on the constitution is not even their concern this is buhari's njc and ultimately nigeria for you

The crooked and corrupt judge tried to evade justice by postponing the same meeting indefinitely just to evade justice, that was abuse of power and the crooked CJ taking the law into his own hand for his own selfish and self serving interest.

He did not get away with it because PMB forced the issue and without PMB, there won't be any meeting of the NJC, thanks to PMB.

You're partisan, I'm not. So you can't understand my point.

The matter is not about Onoghen, neither is it about Buhari, but about respect and regard for our constitution. If Onoghen has case to answer, he should, but you don't disregard the constitution simply because someone you accused refuse to do the needful. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Why breach in the first place and then seek to 'regularise'? By your admission, there was a breach hence your use of the word 'regularize'. How are those who criticized such Constitutional breaches goats? You should be objective enough to criticize wrong when it occurs.

That's if the new acting CJN would respond to the petition cos he appears like his master. But all the same, if due process would be followed am sure Tanko will still not make it as a substantive CJN. On the other hand, Onnoghen will still be suspended finally. So the next person in line should be warming up to take over. I guess Justice Mary Peter-Odili.( Do not say I told u, before Buhari gets to know)

JUSTICE ONNOGHEN VS JUSTICE TANKO MUHAMMAD: HISTORY IS REPEATING ITSELF

Both the suspension of Justice Onnoghen and swearing-in of Justice Tanko Muhammed in acting capacity by the President followed the same pattern of how Justice Theresa Uzokwe was suspended by the Abia State House of Assembly and Justice Orji subsequently sworn in as acting Chief Judge of the state by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

While earlier placing Justice Orji on suspension in January 2018, the NJC said in a statement, “The suspension of the Chief Judge of Abia State (Justice Theresa Uzokwe) by the State House of Assembly without a prior recommendation by the National Judicial Council violates the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Consequently, the subsequent act of appointing and swearing-in of Hon. Mr. Justice Obisike Orji as the Acting Chief Judge is invalid for being unconstitutional.

“Furthermore, the conduct of Hon. Mr. Justice Obisike Orji in presenting himself to be sworn in raises potential questions of misconduct that Council is now looking into.

“Council therefore resolved to query and suspend the Hon. Mr. Justice Obisike Orji pending the outcome of its investigation.”

Later in March 2018, following further investigations by its panel, the NJC said, “Hon. Mr. Justice Obisike Oji was earlier queried by the council for allowing himself to be sworn in as acting Chief Judge, and thereby colluding in, and aiding an unconstitutional process.

“His reply was unsatisfactory and the council recommended his compulsory retirement.”

The NJC, also at the same meeting held on March 14, 2018, found Justice Uzokwe culpable and recommended her compulsory retirement.

Nothing spectacular will come out of the NJC meeting. The members are all afraid to tell dictator Buhari the truth.
They would have been heroes if they write dictator Buhari and advise him to immediately re_instate the CJN while letting him know his action is unconstitutional and also remind him that it is their duty to recommend the CJN suspension if found wanting.

Walter is not coming back to continue on a long term for sure because of the allegations against him for morality sake but will be reinstated and properly asked to resign in a befitting way BUT TANKO just missed the golden opportunity to become LEGAL CJN because he will also be sanctioned for participating in the kangaroo appointment! Both side wins(PDP60% APC40%). My humble opinion
pmb won't fall for such trap of reversing the suspension on onnoghen
