If there was any atom of love between the couple, the separation would not have been possible.
The existent love was between the man and his family which does not necessarily affect the bride. So?

Most likely because of poverty and ignorance, they don't know that having a child out of wedlock is not the end of life, and they probably don't have the resources to empower her, so the next option is to marry her off. Sad!
