On the other hand, India's economy is 30% bigger than Africa and growing at double rate.
But yes, India is as big as a continent should be in population and subcontinent in area.

you should use GDP per capita as they tell the true story.

GDP per capita is always to be measured in PPP. India is world's only industrialized lower middle income country. Hence, Indians have access to many technologies at cheap rate what people of other countries of same income level can't.

Second, GDP per capita doesn't give true picture but poverty ratio does. India's poorest are much richer than Africa's poorest. That's why India's HDI, middle class, production & consumption are much higher.

Africa runs on commodities, India runs on technology and industrialization.

Second, those 20 coubtries even which India will overtake soon are not really African. They either have oil or are Arabian settlements. Even Seychelles and Mauritius are Indian settlements. Only South Africa is good but they too have whites.

1, indian brag before african ? hahahah . my city guangzhou is 1.3 times GDP of HK. which means, more than mumbai, delhi and kolkata put together. my home is at Panfu Road, a mid to small street . but the GDP of this stteet alone, with 3 high rise office buildings and 2 hotels serving to muslim businessmen, has a GDP equivalent with zambia. and you guys are crying we chinese exploiting minerals from africa ?as if we care that thing. why not exploit my street ? my city has 8 districts , GDP of mine is as large as the whole vietnam.

2, india surpassess 20 africa countries ? in 42 years economic reform, china has surpassed only 37 countries, including, russia, mexico, turkey, iran, phillipines, maldives, thailand, malaysia, brazil, argentina, egypt, and some small states from southeast europe. china is always ahead of camnodia, so, this is not "surpassing" ! today, there are 97 countries between china and india .

3 in HK, salary is 5000 dollars/month. house rent 1200 dollars, food 10 dollars per meal. they still have 3000 dollars in the bank. in india, salary is 120 dollars/month, food 1 dollar , rent 30 dollars. you are destitute. in sense of PPP, you indian are still poor . a HKer can buy 1000 boxes of icecream per
month, by using HK dollars. an indian can only buy 50 boxes by using his monthly rupee salary. anything other than local food is expensive. you need to import and pay standard price and shipment fee and custom tarrif. or you can buy cheap and flimsy china products customized to cater india grassroot market.

4 only stupid uneducated indian swallow what the "international" media brainwash them to believe. and these pajeets even start educating others. these dellitante theories can not hold any water . use common sense and basic education knowledge , anyone can tell. but just because these snippets are short, encouraging, spurious, catchy, so much as that they are infiltrated in normal ppl's minds.
