The greatest achievement of this hypocrite administration is the beatification of poverty. Most people (outside the political profiteers) still supporting Buhari are the poverty stricken people whose only consolation is in "Jailing of the Rich". The government have successfully sold the notion to these set of people that becoming rich is evil and anybody doing well financially is a thief and looter who is to be executed. This is part of the reasons why illiteracy has being weaponised over the years by the political elites to perpetually keep their people in servitude and slavery.

Buhari is capitalising on this evil mindset of poor Nigerians who find pleasure in the falling of rich people from grace to grass. To them poverty is righteousness while wealth is corruption. Majority of Buhari's followers are ignorant illiterates who have hatred for the well-to-do.

No sir. It is called socialism, the great divide in modern politics throughout the world. Nigerian politics is perhaps coalescing around the lines of left and right, socialism and capitalism just like you have the Dems and Repubs in America.

When you consider the great programs and economic outlook of either side with the APC wanting bigger government with TSA, government businesses such as Nigeria Air and social programs via direct cash to the people like 'Trader Moni', school feeding then you become aware of what their broad agenda is: socialism

Conversely the PDP tends towards a smaller government and more power to the private sector (privatisations), lower taxation, more FDI, etc, making them appear the poster boys for big business and capitalism.

If Nigerian politics revolve around these distinct ideologies it may not be that bad for starters. Both are perhaps necessary medications in nation building and development. Both should not be taken in excess or abuse is certain. Both socialism and capitalism must reach an equilibrium for peace and true prosperity.

Yes, the growing feeling out there now throughout Nigeria and surprisingly in the north (just back from Abuja) is that this government is looking more like an 'anti rich, anti wealth' movement and uses the poverty of the generality of the people as a political weapon. So even the northern elites are beginning to openly express concerns about that. There is a joke going the rounds that if it was the APC and this government that started of the democratic process in 1999, that GSM will exist but so will NITEL as the sole operator...whatever the consequences.

Its all good. We are not bound to see everything the same way. That is why liberty must be upheld, institutions strengthened and the nation itself restructured so that everyone has a say and every citizen has a right to live and aspire the way he or she wants for a better society.
