Experienced something similar, in fact we re only two that was called to my panel from amphitheatre (myself and one Babcock guy, both studied Economics. GT). Had just 3 old men as panelist. The secretary, a lady later joined them towards the end of my interview.

Maybe it was because, we were rescheduled from 8am.

I never said 5k. But close to 70% of those interviewed, factoring those that do not honour the invite and other stochastic variables, I.e. invitees with incomplete original documents, invitees whose names do not correspond with what's on their documents. Some Oluwole's docs. I saw all these,

Remember NNPC said the authentication of certificate/claims still ongoing. (okay in layman . People wey no show for the interview and whose docs were not authenticated.).

It was reported that NNPC retired 1k+ in 2015 and conducted a Staff proficiency test(u no what that means and reason for EH) plus the commercialisation drive of the corporation, someone also said Train 7 Project.

I'm not implying anything, but then, u cant expunged the possibility of hiring more than 1.5k in this ongoing recruitment exercise.

I.e.60-65% of 6k (+-)
That's less than 4k.

But looking at the postulated figure of interviewees even... I don't think there were up to 600 interviewees per day.

2nd July, 1:30pm session, I estimate the population at ~120; 4 sessions (schedules) a day puts the daily total at ~600. I'm still trying to understand how that translates to ~9,000 for ~11days, rather than ~6,000+ at worst.

Panel 15 of the same day, spent ~25mins on each interview session, that's two sessions per hour.
I want to believe the interviewers had meal breaks inbetween, besides the time lags between successive sessions.

Interviewing ~900 a day sounds unreal and I still have not come to terms with the 9k figure.

But due to unequal time spent with each person and other factors,u have clashes of sessions...

Okay. You got that figure. I was working with 16 (i.e 2 persons per hour for 8 straight hours without a meal break).
So that 20/panel is the only verified figure we have on this thread concerning the interview. 7k+ and 9k is a huge difference o: it's more than the speculated number of eventual employees.

For those of you speculating that 1,250 people, that's about 35-40 people will be selected per state, and those mentioning about 3-4k people will be recruited. All of you guys are not far from the truth. NNPC really need more staff because of the exploration processes taking place in other regions in Nigeria and the massive retirement that's looming the corporation next year. It is said that only 1,250 from the successful candidates among the over 7k people invited will be recruited now, the result for the remaining successfuls will be used later for another recruitment probably next year, because according to NNPC, to place another advert, conduct another CBT and interview the selected candidates is not economical, hence they will still be using the results for this interview next year.
But na Nigeria we dey, anything can happen along the line.

Still about the access bank conspiracy theory. I contacted my legit source/sauce at the NNPC towers, he told me that most of the people considered for the next phase of the recruitment were those that had their interviews on 2nd of July, because they have the overall best performance in the whole interview. I can now see the reason why most of those interviewed on that day didn't received their tf. Congratulations brothers and sisters in advance. See you during documentation.

I also did similar calculation/estimation as the one you did...
AS a matter of fact I don't think upto or more than 5000 ATTENDED the interview
