The "once-saved-always-saved" doctrine is dangerous and ife-destroying, and is not True.

There is such a thing as backsliding... right out of Salvation.

God and Jesus can indeed "blot our name" out of the Book of Life if we backslide.

(1) Hebrews 10:26-31 (which applies to the Saved as well as the un-Saved)

(2) The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant (who was already forgiven... which also shows that God can UN-forgive already-forgiven sins)

(3) Ezekiel 18:19-32 (especially Verses 24 and 26, which the "once-saved-always-saved" people also ignore)

(4) 2 Peter 1:5-11 (NKJV):
5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,
6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,
7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;
11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Why would Peter implore us to "make our election sure" if we can't be lost ?
He wouldn't.

To imply or pretend a Believer has little to no say in the matter of their own Salvation, or can't be lost once they're saved, denies free will.

Therefore, we need to use ALL relevant Scripture on each doctrinal matter to form a COMPLETE DOCTRINE, containing ALL TRUTH and THROWING OUT NOTHING.

"Once-saved-always-saved" is a dangerous doctrine imagined by those who only wish it was that way, because they don't have the right heart to continue Walking with Christ.

But "once-saved-always-saved" is not the Truth.

Salvation requires us to "endure to the end"... and we should want to do that if we truly Love God and Jesus, and others as ourselves.
