Actually the issue is from the women n not men. It’s caused by when a single egg split & develops into 2 individuals but the splitting would stop after few days b4 the embryo develops. Then conjoining will happen

It’s like you boil a meat, split it in the middle halfly, then frying the meat again. You know the splitting would fry & cojoin? That’s the science behind it!

Separating conjoined twins na old school surgery. In developed world its nothing. If we are seeing it as a big feat here then we have a long way to go.

A surgical feat by a team of medical experts has been achieved at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi State.

The medical team successfully separated another set of conjoined twins at its main theater as seen in a video posted online, under the headship of our foremost Pediatric Surgeon and Deputy CMAC Training, Dr Kefas Bwala.

This is the second such feat in less than twelve months.

Last year, a set of conjoined twins were separated at the same hospital, Bauchi.
