Just one thread for all deal hunters is a good solution.
Posting deals every minute will help keep the thread at the top of technology market section.

You can even tell dragnet to make the thread sticky.

Once the thread is created and you guys start posting there, deal buyers will have no option than to go check the thread.

Trust me, it will work.

That post office address got me like grin grin
ChisomK9:
chief for example

Deal Alert
iPhone 7 Plus 32gb
Factory unlocked
Space blue wink

TLC 12222222k
Let me know if you need

Oga that alone can’t cause spamming

The issue I see here is people posting items in their house the will write up the whole specification google has to give for that particular item and still post like 3 to 5 pictures of the item the will post office address and all that and still be quoting it SA avaliable every time

Which is not good it

That there are new clients everyday on pickers threads is not enough reason to be posting deals on the thread.

Do you also know that there will also be new clients on the deal hunters thread that will be created?

A single thread for deal hunters will work.

Chief, this is my 2 cents...

Reactivate the threads... Why? It creates a central marketplace where buyers and sellers can meet without littering the whole section with new topics by the numerous deal hunters. Also, its easier to monitor scammers and point them out for everyone to see. It also creates an avenue to resolve issues amicably. I do not see how each dealhunter creating threads will address these advantages listed above.

Now, as for the spammers... The rule of an ad per pickup thread should be enforced. i.e the dealhunter should only post on the thread where the item was picked. That aside, its easier to note anyone who defaults this so when anyone does, they mention you on both posts to see and you ban the person.

I'm not sure anyone would deal with a new account claiming to be a dealhunter. This would caution dealhunters to be able to preserve their accounts by adhering to whatever rules are laid out.

Please I am neither a dealhunter not a dealreceiver or whatever. Lots of businesses would definitely be put to hold because of this so please be considerate.

Shalom.

valid, pickers can also choose to allow deals in an area to be posted in the thread of the picker, personally I have nothing against this, but then some people have taken advantage of that and would post items already in Nigeria and then add "TLC" or how do we even know that the deal being posted is in the area of the picker's thread it was posted in ?

valid points, especially the monitoring part for scammers, that crossed my mind too.

There is really no way to know the location or the status of the deal being posted. On another note, I think that point is a secondary. The primary point being how to reduce spamming on pick up threads with repeated ads at will.

A general thread for all of them is the way to go. By way of competition or building trust, the real deal hunters will carve a nich for themselves.

We also have to note that, most pickers are not concerned if deals belongs to deal hunters or other buyers. So buyers are actually dealing with deal hunters at their own risk. Anyone patronizing a deal hunters already has the trust of the deal hunter. Hence the saying that deal hunters should post deals in the pickers thread is not really important because you already have some level of trust for the deal hunter before patronizing him.

I'm still not in support of deal hunters opening threads as it would aid/encourage scam.

What can be done?

1. Repeated ads must be stopped.
2. Pictures on an ad should not be more than 2.
3. No need for unnecessary spacing in your ads.
4. Items already in Nigeria should not be advertised on a pick up thread again.
5. A particular ad should not appear more than once in 24hrs and anytime after that, deal hunter should only quote with the word still available without picture.

QED
I think we need to run a poll
Re: Deal Hunters Please Read!!! by ePlanet: 1:03am On Mar 28, 2019
dragnet:

Leave Pickers out of this, have they complained to you?

I don't think I need to start spelling out what is spamming anymore because it is glaring and subtle warning & complaints have been made before now.

Oh, you have to bro. You have to clearly state it the way Nland's rules stares at you every time you want to post. Why? We have new intakes every day and there are those who do not read everything within a thread.

Subtle warnings do not cut it. State it in black and white.

Coming to the ish at hand,

As someone suggested, I think creating a major mall for all deal is a perfect solution couple with individual threads. Let it be that those who dont want to create their threads have a place they can still post apart from the specific picker's thread. Ads must be placed. Even the world cannot do without ads.

MOST VIABLE SOLUTIONS
1. Create a mega mall thread for all deals
2. Individual deal hunters/sellers create their own threads. Those who feel they don't have the rep to will their own threads, post at the mall or specific picker's thread.
3. Ads shoudl be brief, succinct and devoid of pictures. Want pictures? whatsapp

It is your duty to filter through all the suggestions and come up with Rules that govern this space and ads.

@dragnet take ecurrency thread on business section for example, it's working !!!
https://www.nairaland.com/3190496/currency-e-currency-market-deals/6906

1. if your deal is good people will call you, you just need to follow the thread to continue from where you left it
2. it will curb scammers, all eyes will be on a single thread
3. selling clone gadget or faulty electronics will reduce
4. sanity will enter tech market once again ( the repeated ads are annoying )

You guys should get an escrow... Someone popular on the thread... Someone like Omicpet / Wildchild1. You pay to the escrow and once payment is confirmed the seller can send his item. Once the buyer confirms item is OK the escrow can then release payment to you.

Where will the the said ESCROW payment be held? Let me come and learn. I have been selling on Konga close to 5 years i never knew Nairaland is in partner with Konga

They do delivery for anyone and you can also request pay on delivery too, what do IBL use in sending package to those outside Lagos if he pick up from picker when goods arrive lagos?

He uses KOS deliveries and I'm made to understand KOS can also collect payment on behave of sender if he request such..

At least it is on their logistics website
Re: Deal Hunters Please Read!!! by McMayor(m): 4:19pm On Mar 28, 2019
Ok let me enlighten you....
KOS is different from KONGAPAY
Yes KOS handle shipment for third party,... this was started 2-3 years ago.
However they wont accept payment for third party. Not even for Kongas vendor's.

Now that been said... here is how the system works...
You are a vendor on Konga.com... You have your items to sell to someone in Abuja while you are in lagos,
Once this person clicks on BUY / the customer purchases the order, you as the vendor would drop your item off at your nearest KOS outlet which KOS would pick up and then deliver to your customer in Abuja... They act as escrow between its vendor & customer only when order is been placed on the konga.com website.

Sorry i talk about KOS pay on delivery and not Konga Pay.

Pay on delivery (accept payment on behalf of sender) when goods is delivered to buyer, i just check thier website now it is available for Lagos Abuja and PHarcourt only.

Except what is in their website is actually different from what they do in reality.

What exactly is the resolution? It is not about Valid or not valid. What is the way forwward?

We can't keep on this way leaving everything in a state of flux, expecting them to fall in place and when they dont, you go wielding the big stick.

Locking threads in a split and some subtle warnings would not cut it.

You must define rules.

This is not the first time this discussion is coming up, not until you define bounds, is it assumed you'd rather maintain the status quo.

I believe majority of those involved are not kids, which is why I want the resolution to come from them, so that it would be a widely accepted resolution before I start suspending users and deleting posts. Especially since I am neither a buyer, seller, picker or hunter and may not feel what they feel directly but nevertheless the rule of spamming and off-topics is clear, I am only trying to be dynamic and responsive.
So you guys should reach a resolution and effect it.

here's what I've been able to get from suggestions made here,

-- A general thread for TLC deal posting should exist and be used for that purpose,
-- The TLC deals thread can also serve for "who get Samsung Xr in Lagos" posts.
-- Seasoned deal hunters can still have their personal threads to sell deals.
-- Item sellers should have their personal threads too, to sell their items.
-- Once a while, I mean once a while, as in Oooooonce in a whileeeey, deals can be posted in the thread of the pickers where the deal is.
-- Local / Landed ads should never be posted in picker threads.

..so let's start from the above suggestions, let's add and remove as required, then we take a firm decision.

A general thread for all hunters. The tread will also serve to scrutinize all of them so scammers can be separated from genuine business guys

Posting any deal at all on pickers thread should not be allowed. Except you want to be settling quarrel every now and then.

Everything but No. 5, allowing it to some extent will create confusion still, it should be banned entirely and all deals posted on the new TLC thread.
