garfield1: Can a lawyer practice in Nigeria and own his law firm and even become a SAN(Senior Advocate of Nigeria) if he wasn't called to the bar in Nigeria?? Put sentiment aside bro and be sincere with yourself. |

gtown: Gtown I don't remember quoting u or u quoting me on this thread until now so I will assume u r using more than one accounts or u quoted the wrong person cos u made it look like we had a discussion going on. That's BTW. Secondly, what do you mean by nothing like transmitting result or Manuel sending? Of course everyone manually typed what was recorded physically n since we don't vote on the card reader, we sent it to a server - which is obviously not urs or mine, but INEC's. Mind you, sending the results needs network after typing d details into d card reader so which English u dey try use take confuse urself again? Plus, what is the process called? |

Wiseandtrue: In a law suit, the first rule is that 1. The law us blind meaning that whatever you present is what will be decided upon. So each party to a case looks for anything to win the case. Now INEC was equally sued in fact they are the first defendant so they will defend with all they have to win the case |

Re: INEC To Tribunal: Atiku’s Lawyer Not Licensed To Practise In Nigeria by solreb: 8:09pm On Apr 14, 2019 |
Wiseandtrue:It is you that are wrong. The Court will limit itself to the electoral law and Constitution which as of today has no provision for transmission of election results electronically. This is why INEC collated all results manually and the result of poll announced based on this to the whole world. So for Atiku to claim he got his results from INEC server beats me. For that to happen 1. the results would have been transmitted and collated electronically. which is not the case.2. INEC would have entered such manually after the collation. And it can't be possible for INEC to announce one result to the world and now manually input another into their server. It does not make sense. If Atiku had come up with manually collated figures across the states different from what INEC announced then they may have a case but no some lawyers wanting to defraud Atiku agreed to present such baseless reason |

jrusky: You didn't have to abuse him. For your information they are already in court and parties to the case are already defending, on case you weren't aware |

What has never happened before happens one day buhari will be the first President to be impeached in Nigeria just as Jonathan been the first incumbent President that lost his seat in 2015,if inec is right of what they are saying let them bring electoral material for inspection, 1 Like |

Stakeholders: Dear presiding officer it appeared you missed the fact that Buhari declined ascent to the bill to allow transmission of results electronically runup to the election. This mater was widely publicised. Election was conducted similar way we did in 2015 so INEC wouldn't authorize you to transmit results electronically even though the function is on the card reader |

Mbediogu:That means you area novice to law. The first thing that lawyers do is to frustrate any petition on technicalities before even the main substance of the matter is addressed. So ATIKU's camp must overcome that hurdle first. This is normal in law and is allowed. |

Wiseandtrue:Against the electoral act. Even if they have server in this jet age, it doesnt still hold water if you obtain the supposed results through an illegal means. In any court of competent jurisdiction, cases like that are usually thrown out and you are here defending illegallity. To rig election is one thing to present a proof beyond reasonable doubt is another. Please upgrade! |
Re: INEC To Tribunal: Atiku’s Lawyer Not Licensed To Practise In Nigeria by solreb: 8:42pm On Apr 14, 2019 |
gtown:Correct. Even though card reader has the functionality the law does not permit it so INEC didn't allow or instruct any officer to do so. Recall that Buhari declined ascent to the bill that will give legal backing to this afew weeks to the election. So the guy claiming he transmitted the result was not saying the truth or perhaps didn't know what he was doing |
