But Obama became American president

Stop spreading ignorance

Obama was also challenged that he was Kenyan then he brought his birth certificate which showed that he was born in Hawaii thus making him a full American citizen by birth. His mother too is a full American.

Let Atiku bring his birth certificate that shows where he was born. In the absence of birth certificate, we will rely on the information he himself has provided which is Jada village in northern Cameroon.

With respect to your allegation that Atiku was not born in Nigeria, you have no case submission; there is no issue especially since it is confirmed that his state and place of birth is under the territory of Nigeria. Besides you have not quoted expressly the article of the 1999 constitution that purportedly disqualifies Atiku.

If the desire for a better Nigeria, that would have been more auspicious given the administration of Atiku rather than the incompetent and toxic president of Nigeria (PMB), is interpretred by you as loving illegality. Then so be it.

Mind you, you and FG are still to convict Atiku on your persistent allegation of theft. We are not all fools, you see!

Even if you shown a section of the constitution that nailed the coffin of Atiku's inordinate ambition, you will still request for the drafters of the 1999 constitution in order to satisfy you "whims" and "caprices". - Does that mean a competent court of law may one day void Adamawa, Yobe, Taraba votes in an election because it could not differntiate between a man born before 1961 and after 1961?

- How does a sane govt use its own hands to divide its Nation. How do you look the elderly Adamawa, Taraba, Yobe in the eyes and call them non - citizens?

In America, You can't be the President unless you are born in the United States Of America. That is Citizenship by birth and not Visa Lottery or Scam Marriages

Why are ipob yoots so uneducated?

ATIKU IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO BECOME PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA. NO SENTIMENTS HERE PLEASE!-

Chapter VI, Part I, Section 131 of the constitution states that a person may be qualified for election of the office of the President if:

They are a citizen of Nigeria by birth;
They have attained the age of thirty five years;
They are a member of a political party and is sponsored by that political party;
They have been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent.

Your logic hold no water,first it was Atiku is a Cameroonian,now your narrative has changed oh he is indeed a Nigerian but can't hold public office,are you such a confused and disturbed individual for real?

Both Atiku,Buhari and some present day Cameroonians were all born in the colony and protectorate Nigeria(1914-1954)until it was divided in 1954 into present day Nigeria and some parts of present day Cameroon and so therefore carry same status of place of birth.

How come Atiku is now conveniently a Cameroonian while Buhari is a Nigerian when they were all born in the same country as there was no such entity as Cameroon until 1954.

I hope I have made myself clear in the most elementary way for u to comprehend and if u still don't understand your case is indeed irredeemable.

Nobody says @Atiku is not a Nigerian now. The cogent point about his eligibility to contest to be president of Nigeria is that he was not born a Nigerian i.e. He wasn't Nigerian at birth as required by the Constitution!

He became a Nigerian in 1961 after a referendum added his birthplace that was part of Cameroon to Nigeria at age 15, having been born in 1946.

The constitution is very clear on who can be president of Nigeria. The person has to be 100% a Nigerian at birth.

You cannot backdate the referendum of 1961 that made Atiku become a Nigerian to the date of his birth in 1946. However, all Nigerians born in that his birthplace since 1961 referendum are fully and wholly Nigerians who are qualified to be president of Nigeria, but not anyone of them born before the referendum.

Summarily; Atiku Abubakar is fully a Nigerian but not qualified to be president of the country.
His case is similar to what the Republicans wanted to use to nullify Obama's presidency, until he provided his birth certificate that showed he was born in Hawaii, on US soil. Unfortunately, Atiku wasn't born on Nigerian soil as at the day he was born.

Let me school you a bit here:

1. Atiku is a Citizen of Nigeria.

2. Nobody is contesting his Citizenship and that of his Jada People of Adamawa.

3. What are the ways one can become a citizen of Nigeria?
a) BY BIRTH
B) BY REGISTRATION
C) BY REFERENDUM
D) BY NATURALIZATION

4) Out of above methods, it is only a person who becomes a CITIZEN By BIRTH Is Qualified To Contest for the Office Of The President.

5. Can Athiefku and His Jada Cameroon vote and be voted for? Yes because they are Citizens of Nigeria by Referendum.

6) Can they ( Atiku and Jada Brothers) contest and be voted for up to the post of the Vice Presidency? YES because the Constitution paved way for them?

7. The question is: Did Atiku fulfill the Constitutional requirements to contest for the post of the president?

8 . The Answer is what the APC wants the Appeal court to determine, because one of the requirements is that you MUST A Citizen By BIRTH To Qualify.

9. That you are citizen of Nigeria by other means such as Referendum, Naturalization, Registration etc can only take you the office of the Vice President and not that of the President according to the 1999 Constitution we operate.

he was born in British Cameroon thus technically not Nigerian

Fulani soldiers founded the Adamawa Emirate in the north in the 19th century, and various ethnic groups of the west and northwest established powerful chiefdoms and fondoms. Cameroon became a German colony in 1884 known as Kamerun.

After World War I, the territory was divided between France and the United Kingdom as League of Nations mandates. The Union des Populations du Cameroun (UPC) political party advocated independence, but was outlawed by France in the 1950s, leading to the Bamileke War fought between French and UPC militant forces until early 1971. In 1960, the French-administered part of Cameroon became independent as the Republic of Cameroun under President Ahmadou Ahidjo. The southern part of British Cameroons federated with it in 1961 to form the Federal Republic of Cameroon

That is why the constitution needs to be amended. Besides, one of the things that gives birth to a constitution or its amendment is known as experience. And it is good that some thing like this is brought into limelight. So for future purpose, there should be amendment. But for now, Na 1999 dey on ground ooo.
