This is Ikom, in the Northern part of Cross River State (politically Cross River Central). 60% of the women ride bikes, even women in their sixties. 70% of the population are non-indigenes and it is one of the cheapest places to live in Nigeria.

Travelling with a car by road, it is 3 hours from Calabar, 1 hour 45 minutes to Obudu, 20 minutes to the Cameroonian border and Ogoja is just 45 minutes away.

Cash crops like plantain, banana, cocoa, are in great abundance here. There is much food here as well, due to its closeness to Benue State, "The Food Basket of the Nation".

To get to Ikom from Calabar, you'll have pass through Odukpani, Akampka (the richest and largest local government in the state, and it also borders Cameroon), Biase, Yakurr, Obubra, then Ikom.

You have no problem with communication as the people here are friendly and can speak good English. One can easily spot a stranger in Ikom, hence, the crime rate is very low, that you can walk around safely, even at midnight. #HistoryVille
