I disagree with your first statement. Its not part of giving back and I don't see how the rest of your first statement proves anything.

No, church is not a poverty alleviation mission even for the so called pastors themselves. So it should not be seen as a venture to exploit people.

If they have been giving aids to those in need, fine.

Since building institutions of knowledge is not giving back to the society, please lecture us on how to give back to the society.

Tithe and offering don't give rich churches above 30% of their income.

Before the likes of Oyedepo, Chris, Olukoya etc came into the scene. The churches were collecting tithe and offerings yet there were so poor that the church was use for an adage, "as poor as a church rat."

The game changed when the churches started investing in businesses.

The churches own more than half of the private schools in Nigeria ranging from creche to university. Churches own farms, eateries, factories etc but you will not know because you aren't close to the church.

The church is managed by people and their livelihood depend on it. They aren't obligated to take care of any supposed poor.

No one has ever been forced to church.

Are you seriously kidding me with your second to the last statement?

The money invested in the businesses you mentioned are gotten from who ?

You keep mentioning church, church, church. Who makes up the church?....the pastors only?

If you are asking me how they can give back to the society besides establishing expensive private schools that even some of their members cannot afford, then there is no point we keep arguing on this especially as you have clearly stated that the 'church' is not obligated to help the needy.

We do not practice the same Christianity.

African Evangelism
It's cheaper to use private helicopter for African tours/evangelism than a commercial flight.
Because they are not readily available, you may need a stop over Europe for many African countries.

They brainwash them by telling them that the private jet is for evangelism, but use it for money laundering, ask Orishejafor.
Evangelism is now winning members to their churches rather than winning soul for Christ, hence the more the churches everywhere, the more crimes are increasing.

All for the money

Only a nincompoop person of your kind will drag their parents barefaced attitude into a faceless forum matter because Amadioha or Idemmili has claimed deaf ears to heal them to a normal state and their obscenity is currently affecting you. What a pity. cool

Has the federal universities in Nigeria admitted all the poor citizens of this country that church universities should copy them?

The church and the government who should be more responsible to the poor?

Did Jesus took care of all the poor people that came to him for life?

Judas too claimed to be more pro-poor than Jesus till he sold Jesus because of envy.

What point are you trying to make by talking about Judas?

Even with the main priority Jesus had while on earth, he still took out time to show compassion. He was just 'one' person born into a poor family.

How many self proclaimed men of God do we have in Nigeria alone who have repeatedly jumped into political 'beds'?

That government has repeatedly failed to improve the standard of living for the average Nigerian does not mean the church should do the same after receiving donations from business men and even government officials themselves only to build big 'synagogues' and buy private jets.

It should not be called a church to begin with.
