Codyella:
Reading through the comments of the hungry and broke mysogynists that are pissed by the fact that a woman has her own voice and refused to be silenced on issues concerning her own money, I simply laugh instead on the reek of insecurities oozing from them. You're pissed cos your wife or sister can't even afford to buy a keke or you can't even afford to buy a tire so my comment intimidated you? Nah, I'm not gonna rub your deflated ego.

You people asked for evidence of the stuffs I bought, I listed it. You people said I'm lying about the car service, I posted a filter. But you guys conveniently ignored those and refused to talk about them and yet asked for receipts and screenshot of my chat with Amdman. Doesn't this show that you are not interested in justifying what happened, instead you just wanted to crucify me cos I'm a woman?!

Telling me it's ordinary battery and stuff is just silly cos clearly you don't understand that changing a Ford Edge battery is not easy and not something you can do at home. Go ahead and browse it. Anyone in onitsha knows that you hardly see Ford mechanics. My only condition with Amdman before buying this car is that "the car should be in good condition" cos I'm not looking for something to fix. If this were a Japanese car, I won't even have any issues cos the mechanics are everywhere. If he had told me the car had issues, I won't have gone for it cos it will not only cost me more to fix it but it will be difficult for me to find a good Ford specialist.

Now, the car won't start and so far, I've only seen one person that knows stuff about the car. How then will I know if he's been truthful or not?! I told Amdman my issues with Ford, still he assured me that I won't work on anything for at least a year except for servicing. Only for him to send the car and it's been one thing or the other and I've not even driven the car for once! To top it off, when I complained to him, he seemed non-chalant about it.

Well, I have written a review on my personal experience, you loyalists can continue saying stuffs about me, I honestly don't care cos you might be in one cubicle typing rubbish and I'm supposed to take offence with your keypad prowess? Lol... Y'all miss me on that bullshit.

Most of them can't even afford tyres but are always quick to criticise another person's choice. What good will it do to tell someone that a car he already spent money on is scrap? Is that not plain evil?! Why can't you just be happy for him and hope to buy yours too soon? Did you have to be a kill joy? He wasn't asking for your unwarranted opinion, try giving it to someone that actually asks for it. Little wonder why those that bought cars through this thread rarely come back to give reviews cos most of y'all are a bunch of sadists! Channel your frustration elsewhere and quit being bitter and negative, everyone mustn't conform to your choices!

How time flies...

How does sanatafe 2009 fare in Nigeria?

Parts availability: all parts available.

Technical know-how: can be fixed by almost any mechanic, no speciality required.

Suspension reliability: very reliable

Vehicle electronics: Not complicated.

Drivetrain reliability : transmission is a workhorse , engine is prone to failure from around 90,000 miles. (Valves dropping into cylinder )

Air-conditioning: very good build.

Buying this car? Have the valve pins checked on all cylinders before use to avoid expensive engine repair or outright replacement.

Ensure you check underbody for rust.

Jesterfly:

Baba like I said earlier, I hold nothing against you, I only came out to let every Codyella attacker know that she was not the only one who didn't get what she was expecting. Afterall I don buy am, nothing I fit do about am again, I no go fit return am.I don't understand how I should be calling your attention to every repairs I want to undertake on a vehicle you sent.

You are a trustworthy person, but trust is different from integrity, if you said there's no issue or fault to fix, let it be so, except there's a different meaning to that. And if you say there's just a particular fault, let it be so as well, like you say in some of your cars and even provide the faulty parts along with the vehicle.

Many people asked me whether I knew you before sending money to you all the way fron Nigeria to Canada , but I tell them I never knew you, I only trusted you, and they were amazed and wanted to do business with you, that was how I directed alot of folks to you, unfortunately they couldn't close a deal with you cos of lack of response from you, they all got their vehicles elsewhere and moved on by the ways.

If I get money, I go still buy ride from you if you go still sell for me, but after I've done my due diligence of inspecting everywhere before departing with my money ofcourse-I've learnt my lesson.

Keep posting & closing deals baba. I wish you nothing but greater sells

We move!!

So sad, such a promising business venture that could help People get tokunbo cars at compettive price, no one is perfect, I see this guy as someone who try as much as possibe to be honest and straight forward with his dealings and would rather make lose than tarnish his image.

I bought an accord from him last year the video he showed me was very clean, I was very excited, but when car land the car looked like normal naija used accord, dirty inside and some rust outside, I first weak, the thing even get some rust under am, the body wasn't perfect, some parts were broken in the interior , fuel cap door doesnt close, some dent on the body from port, the car was overheating when I was driving it home, Ac wasn't working

But when I reached out to him and explain things, he promised to assign a mechanic to help fix them at no cost to me.

But since I saw these as minor fixes, I just did them myself, I didn't wanted any mechanic touching the car, however to assist me, Amdman wrote off a 50k I was owing him as settlement for whatever I had spent.

One thing I am sure of is Amdman would not deliberately sell you a lemon and if there are fault that were not disclose he will work with you to get them resolved.

Madam and Jesterfly, I believe if you permit amdman to post the chat screenshot with him, we will all be able to deduce who is at fault clearly, and help you resolve this matter.

You miraculously edited your post about the Broken C.V axle? And car being towed to a workshop? bro code?

Well in your case the CV axle did not break because the vehicle was removed from the container. It is very common in rusted vehicles for the axles to break due to rust usually around rubber covering.

Awesome, intelligently put together and very apt. I doff my hat.
Please do come out once in a while from the incognito mode. I believe there is more wisdom from where this comes from, stay blessed

talk2odim:
I have been following this thread from day one and witnessed the "highs and lows, the attacks and defence etc." Eversince I realized lot of people on nairaland are actually younger than I thought and immature, I try my best to refrain from interfering in issues to avoid "pig fights" especially with presumed kids behind keyboards. However, somethings are clearer when we avoid unnecessary complications and look at issues more objectively!

These are my candid thoughts on the issues, my opinion:
1. Codyella, your position is grossly tainted with hypocrisy (no pun intended).Don't get me wrong pls, this is more worrisome cos it is mostly subjective and fueled by emotions and dragging the gender issue into it hasn't helped either. I believe you work hard to earn your money and should not feel nor be made to feel because you are a woman anyone would look down on you or take you for a ride! My opinion is derived from the following inferences:
a. Are you aggrieved.....obviously Yes.
b. Do you have a right to be......Definitely.
c. Did you present your case....Ambiguously/mischievously.
d. Have solutions be proffered.....Expressly
e. Did you accept any of the solutions.......No
The above then begs for a serious question: What exactly do you want?
You have been offered an alternative for a full refund plus expenses incurred (if you can proof such). Someone even suggested you resell to him and you outrightly refused all! which suggests perceived value for money. And despite you repeatedly stating you were done with the matter, you subtly find a way to still come back and make "one last volatile comment." Your actions suggest an underlining issue that may be more than what we all think and I am afraid what we may be seeing are "symptoms" and not the actual "sickness."
You also give credence to what Amdman said somewhere " that you only came here when he refused to bear the cost of a new battery" which may suggest a "revenge or pull him down" motive.
You should also understand that the onus of proof lies with the accuser and unfortunately you have not been able to satisfactorily ascertain the case of missing items (you have actually kind of evaded this) nor repair expenses incurred but rather given credence to what Raduautoworks mentioned (and based on what I know, she is no novice in the field so her opinions can't be discounted with a pinch of salt) i.e you may have been a victim of a dubious mechanic (trust me I have experienced this in the past) and compounded issues more with an unfounded fraud accusation.
You have mostly acted based on emotions which is perfectly understandable if you feel what you got is below agreed expectations but I think it's time you act more objectively.
Finally, I observed with interest how you evaded Amdman's express request to present chats that you both exchanged which would have either supported your claim or discounted his rebuttal.....this is very strange for someone seeking to justify her cause.

2. On Jesterfly, I had to watch the video multiple times and requested a few of staff and friends to do same and give their opinions. Strangely, we all had the same perspective. The aspect of no rust in the video was clearly referring to the interior that was being displayed at that particular moment. That was very clear and I wonder how it was easily misunderstood. Maybe you later asked about rust issues, that I can not opine on but the inference is made from the video you posted. Also Amdman claimed in your chats he never said there were no trusts but rather it was fixable. I also observed the video appeared to be a generic inspection and was not particularly made for you. I may be wrong on this though.
Particularly, if you had no bias according to the so called "guy code" whatever that means and had no hard feelings then you shouldn't have brought your matter up at all. Bring in up now is quite ambiguous in intent and maybe suggestive of a subtle mischievous underlining intent even when you have said there is none. Also, the moment you mentioned your experience along the Benin expressway, I was no longer surprised at the multitude of issues you had afterwards. Anyone familiar with that terrain would know how those "criminal" elements operate. My experience wasn't pleasant at all. The second, I had already learnt! Story for another day. Coincidentally, you also evaded Amdman's request to publish chats between the two of you!

3. Amdman, it is quite unfortunate that there is a general consensus on one issue about you: your communication is fundamentally flawed and you appear to have been unable to noticeably improve on this! And trust me, for a man in business and who appears to have integrity, this is a conflict and you have no excuse!!! Your customers and prospects appear to be like " patients waiting for HIV test results!" Who are constantly put in hypertensive mode. Communication is the life wire of every business and it's not what you can treat lightly especially when you are not physically present. It gradually erodes trust in transactions.
Codyella, insinuated that there was a prior conversation on having a "perfect" buy and drive vehicle before purchase and if this is true, and the issues raised genuine, then unfortunately you fell below standard and that could be the bane of her grievance. I believe she is of the opinion you intentionally mislead her into taking an uninformed decision and this cannot be lightly discounted under any guise. In my opinion but at your total discretion, I think you should reach out to her like the gentleman you have repeatedly proved to be and if possible (this is totally your prerogative) offer to bear part of the expenses she has incurred. This doesn't make you a lesser man but rather boasts after sales integrity and helps nib this unfortunate incident in the bud. Take note of certain criticisms, absorb them and use the energy to drive improved services.

4. Others, in our bid to either support or antagonize either parties, we shouldn't lose our element of humanity! The insults, counter insults, gender vantage points and gender attacks were totally unwarranted and help in no way at resolving an issue capable of undermining the good work Amdman has been trying to achieve. It causes more harm than good. In business, criticism helps in evaluation and strategy redirection and should be appreciated. Like they say " there is no negative publicity" and quite frankly we should all be worried if there are no objective negative feedbacks cos that would suggest Amdman's business model is perfect and requires no improvement which we all know is practically impossible.

Cheers all as I possibly resume my incognito mode.

You ripped me off in this car purchase but I believe that karma is real. We all pay for our actions one way or the other. I have learned a big lesson from all this and life goes on. Like I said to those that contacted me, buy at your own risk but hopefully he might improve after all this. I've attached the picture of the filter. It is rusted not dirty.

Your engine oil filter was clearly not changed. Any vehicle owner knows what a 3day old oil filter looks like irrespective of the terrain.
