Let Rivers manage her resources. And let her generate electricity from her gas fields without any inhibition and we can have a discussion..

states in USA are much developed and economically viable than most countries

same implies to states in Nigeria, only if Nigeria Is restructured and allow states manage their resources just like America

How many governors in the south have judiciously used their state's resources?

How many left office having more money in their pockets than the state coffers?

Corruption is near you, look inwards and deal with it first. China, India, the US have more numbers and are using it to their advantage

Analysis

Though landlocked and densely populated, Rwanda is a developing country that has undergone rapid industrialisation thanks to successful government policy. Since the early-2000s, Rwanda has witnessed an economic boom improving the living standards of many Rwandans. The Government’s progressive visions have been the catalyst for the fast transforming economy. The President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, has noted his ambition to make Rwanda the "Singapore of Africa".

Bounded by the Atlantic ocean and having large deposits of hydro carbon, glass and silica sand, Rivers state is one of the most naturally endowed parts of Africa. It produces 50% of Nigeria's crude oil. However from the statistics above, it is clear that life in this very beautiful part of Africa is not better than life in Rwanda which has very little natural resources and land.

It shows again why seperatism in Nigeria is not a bad politics. Nigeria is too large and diverse to cordinate and develope a modern society. Ethnic tensions and religious intolerance contributes to keep the beautiful people of Nigeria down.

The South East of Nigeria which has clamoured for Biafra for years are always reminded that they are landlocked and with little oil. But here is Rwanda, a landlocked African Nation without resources (except its beautiful people) that survived a brutal genocide, gradually draging itself out of poverty without oil.

Think on this today.

lol, Imo State has the largest gas field in West Africa

] Oil exploration and production have been ongoing in Njaba River basin since early 1960s. Addax Petroleum, Shell and ChevronTexaco have been operating in OML 53 and OML 124 in neighbouring Izombe.[21]:98

The then Senate Committee Chairman on Gas Resources, Senator Osita Izunaso said by the time Addax starts oil activity in their latest Njaba 2, the company could be producing about 15,000 to 20,000 barrels per day in Imo State.[22] The Senator, during a visit at Izombe flow station also disclosed that establishment of an oil and gas laboratory in Owerri as well as further studies on the gas reserve in the Anambra Basin was covered in 2010 federal budget.[22]
