SocialJustice:Yes racoons are only found natively in US and Mexico areas. They are not found in Africa. When you describe the African Civet as being wild as the Hyena, i suppose you mean "as dangerous as"? Well you are wrong. It is a strictly nocturnal animal that is shy and elusive and feeds on small animals e.g frogs and plants. It is not even a quarter as dangerous as a hyena. It is not even half as dangerous as the common domestic dogs in our homes. |

ubee:I was referring to it being dangerous to humans. The hyena might have been an exaggerated example but the point I was trying to make is it can harm and kill a human especially when it feels threatened. You can not compare a domesticated dog to a wild carnivore. |

blackslayer:And who told you you're at the bottom of the food chain? You're a mere consumer, there are decomposers at a higher trophic level than you. It's not like they went into the forest to kill it, it left its habitat and was killed. Same way wild animals will feast on you in the jungle for disturbing their peace. 1 Like 1 Share |

SocialJustice:Well you are wrong again. The reaction of a civet when it sees a human 100% times is to run away. It will only lash out at a human if it is cornered and realises it's going to be killed. I say once again it cannot inflict damage anywhere as serious as a domestic dog can on a human. It's jaws, it's teeth are nothing compared to a dog, or any of the wild cats. Go and read very well about the African civet, or Civet cat as some people call it. People seem to be scared of it because it looks quite scary, but it's of little to no threat at all to humans |

ubee:True, the common dog has bigger jaws but it is a domestic animal unlike the Civet. Saying it isn't dangerous as I think is not enough for me to feel comfortable around a wild carnivore. Thanks for the enlightenment though. |
God did NOT create some of these animals for us to keep in the zoo, He gave them to us as MEAT for the nourishment of our bodies. I laughed at one of my friend who tagged me a murderer for killing a nutritious porcupine. I killed it and prepared it very well that even my friend who was accusing me of being a murderer had to have a taste of the meat. Op, allow your friends to enjoy themselves and if you feel like partaking in the feast, do well to join them and wash it down with a mortuary standard beer of your choice. Don't listen to any Animal Right Activist here because if you check their pots of soup, it is fully loaded with different species ranging from Iguana, Crocodile, Monitor Lizard, Antelope and possibly a bat.
1 Like 1 Share
