Nigeria is indeed blessed with both natural and human resources but many people are still wondering why Nigeria is retrogressive?

Unfortunately, Nigerian in the Diasporas are doing great in all walks of life. A collary of what I am trying to say is about this young Nigerian damsel that is making her country proud.

to me it is not an achievement

i am tired of this the first black, the second black to graduate and all these nonsense

the only achievement that is important is what contribution did you make to human civilisation, what problem did you solve, that is what matters

Abi o!

There is now...

Across the country, millions of college seniors are celebrating the end of their days as a student and the beginning of their life in the real world.

However, one special Yale graduate is also celebrating the incredible accomplishment of becoming only the second Black woman in history to graduate from the Ivy League school with a B.S. in astrophysics.

In a May 27 tweet, Osase Omoruyi revealed she’s not only the second Black woman to earn the degree, but also took home a coveted prize from the department of astronomy.

Congratulations but I don't understand this new phenomenon of castigating schools because of low number of blacks or so-called term "ethnic minorities". For goodness sake, how many women are interested in Astrophysics let alone black people let alone black women? How then does one expect these schools to admit blacks or black women into programs that have very very low if not nonexistent applicants?

Expectedly, she lampooned the school AFTER graduating not during or before admission. Tomorrow, someone will join her in the crusade not knowing the privilege she has.

BTW, it seems the best bet for middle class Nigerians to have their children achieving similar feats is by relocating to developed countries. Upper class folks can afford to sponsor their kids to MIT like Tope Lawani straight from Nigeria but others might have to follow the route of Bim Afolami's father and expect their kids to perform well.

A Nigerian lady identified as Osase, just became the second black female to graduate from Yale in Astrophysics

According to the Nigerian lady who became the second black female to graduate from Yale in Astrophysics, she also won her department's prize. However she couldn't take photos with the prizes because her Nigerian parents swiftly took it home.

She tweeted;

The imbecilic use of the word, Black, to qualify a Nigerian female in such a grandiose occasion simply destroyed my academic appetite to enjoy the read. Again, another lowly educated African has just spoilt my day with silly arrogation.
