I am not defending the government, if you go through my replies you will see that I stated that there is need to make an in-depth research into why the price difference exists to decide whether the government inflated the price or not.

You can’t just jump into conclusion based on the topic without carrying out some proper findings to unravel the true facts. I’m not saying the government can’t inflate the price, we are in Nigeria and we know anything goes here, but still we need to understand situation perfectly before jumping into conclusion.

A lot of things can lead to the price difference which is what I’m Envisaging and until that is established you can’t just go about blaming the minister just based on a headline without facts.

Many of them lack intellectual curiosity, they just read and jump without using their brains to analyse and rationalize basic facts. They think like kids.

It's like me saying my 2 story house and your 2 story house should have the same price tag even though the configuration, finishing and specifications are different.

Nigerians have suffered absence of quality leader, any little achievement will seem like cloud nine.

Nigerians are clapping for Ameachi because he's doing an incredible job as a transport minister, its not about who's financing d project. Almost all projects in africa is largely financed by China.

Oga, see, getting projects from China is the easiest of all jobs if loan is approved.

What is incredible about getting China to execute a project in your country on loan?

Anybody, even you, can do it easily and without much noise.

Amaechi is just loud. Others did it easily with little or no noise.

1) STELLA ODUAH (GEJ's minister of Aviation) did it for Lagos, Abuja, PH and Kano new airport terminals.

2) Sen Idris Umar (GEJ's minister of Transport) did it for Abuja - Kaduna rail line

3) Sen Bala Muhammed (GEJ's minister of FCT) did it for Abuja MetroLine

I wonder if you, or anyone else who has referred on here to possible differences in terrain, have ever bothered to actually check out Ethiopia's terrain in comparison with SW Nigeria's? Because if you had, you'd know that Ethiopia is a much more mountainous country, thanks to the Rift Valley running through eastern Africa. That being the case, terrain would be a reason for the Ethiopian line to be more expensive, not less.

There's something ridiculous about the manner in which people on here reflexively defend anything done by "their" party, no matter how glaringly problematic it may be: it's not as if only supporters of one of the two main parties will exclusively bear the costs of servicing these loans, so what is to be gained by such efforts (unless one is being paid for doing so)? Even if it's true that the cost of the railway line under Amaechi is $800 million less than it was under GEJ, how does that establish that it still isn't wildly overpriced, albeit by less than before? That's as senseless as saying corruption in Nigeria ended after Abacha because no one after him established so many secret overseas accounts.

There are real questions to be answered here, and to pretend otherwise is simply to bury one's head in the sand like an ostrich.

Thank you sir

getting a loan for project from China is actually easy, executing d project is the problem. That's where Ameachi stand out among all these people u mentioned.

1....Stella Oduah received a $400m loan for 4 new airport terminals, how many were constructed? What was d end of Stella Oduah?

2.....Idris Umar received loan from China for d abj/kad rail line in 2010, why can't they complete d project? Why did d project lingered till 2017 before completion, 7years after obtaining d loan?

3.... dont even talk about abuja metro line. That one even took longer than abj/kaduna rail line to complete, despite being 44km only.

So, it's not about receiving d loan only... its about executing d project. Construction of Lagos/ibadan rail line started in June 2017, its almost complete...

That's d difference.

You missed it.
Let me step in to throw more light

China no longer gives cash money as loans to African countries.
You're wrong to state that Stella Oduah received $400m .... no sir, she did not receive any money.

All Chinese loans are delivered as projects and executed by Chinese contractors - CCECC or CRCC.
It's simple, the benefiting country simply identifies a project, pay 15% counterparts fund upfront while China absorbs the balance of 75% by delivering the projects to completion using their companies - CCECC or CRCC. Simple!

The Chinese govt had completed Stella Oduah's new international airport terminals in Lagos and Kano since 2015 while Abuja was ongoing. They moved to PH in 2016.

The Abuja-Kaduna railway was also completed since 2015 except for the Idu Station because of a land ownership legal battle between NRC and the Catholic Church. Also, the coaches for the route arrived late during Buhari's tenure..

Chinese govt does not abandon projects. Some projects may delay slightly but China will complete them because it's a loan contract. Amaechi does not need to visit project sites for pictures before China does their work.

These zombies are so daft. They don't know that China no longer dole out cash as loans to African countries
Their infrastructural loans come in the form of projects. They build and transfer.

of course, china don't give out loan in cash. When I say Oduah received $400m loan, i dont mean she collected cash but the loan was agreed and signed during her time.

Kano new terminal will be completed this year, d only terminal constructed during Oduah's time is lagos terminal with a lot of issues emanating from lack of information dispensation to poor siting of d terminal.

Haha, Amaechi doesn't need to visit site?.... if u're building a house, will u visit it or not during construction?

U can keep denying d obvious. Ameachi is doing his job excellently well.
Re: Railway Projects: Cost Comparison Between Nigeria Vs Ethiopia by Shikini: 11:10am On Jun 08, 2019
Kano new terminal is not completed?
Why?

I know CCECC's hands are full.
But it has dragged so long.
Unlike Nigeria, China isn't going through economic downturn na.

So, why the delay?

Here is the only airport terminal Stella Oduah commissioned during the 6 years of Ebele Jonathan n she ended turning the Owerri port into a seaport.

Lagos new terminal just under construction after first four years of Buhari n cursed PDP supporters are already claiming what it foundation as not be laid.

Bro, how old are you and when did you start following Nigerian politics?
Replying your type is a waste of time based on what you wrote above.

Go through all Buhari's budgets from 2015 and tell me if airport terminals was ever his priority.
Did Buhari know how those airport terminals projects came about?

The only aviation minister that prioritise airport terminals was Stella Oduah (GEJ)
Apart from domestic airport terminals remodelling, GEJ's govt signed a loan deal with China to deliver four new international terminals in Lagos, Abuja, PH and Kano. The Chinese govt through CCECC has been working on these projects since 2013.

China had nearly completed the Lagos terminal since 2015. They have delivered PH and Abuja too. Kano was nearly completed since 2015.

Oga, the Chinese govt (not Buhari) is funding the new airport terminals projects through a loan deal negotiated by STELLA ODUAH during GEJ's regime. GEJ's govt also paid the 15% counterparts funds.

Buhari did not know anything about how these projects came about.

Same with Abuja-Kaduna railway, Abuja MetroLine railway and Itakpe - Warri railway.

Crooked and corrupt Oduah built cages, not terminals and the rubbish she put in Yola fell apart after commissioning.

Amaechi achieved more than all the losers you mentioned and he built real world class terminals in PH and Abuja, not chicken cage and worthless death traps.

GEJ and his corrupt gang budgeted $800 million more for Lagos Ibadan railway, Amaechi reduced the cost and saved $800 million.

When people want to loot funds, they keep quiet, they keep you in the dark from day one. This is the reason why they abandon projects all over the place, but Amaechi is not hiding anything, he's keeps us informed about his projects including how much they cost.

The Warri Itakpe GEJ and others abandoned for 30 years, Amaechi finished it in less than 3 years.

Lagos Ibadan rail is about to be completed in less than 3 years, but the losers you praise either saddle us with rubbish or just abandon all together, they did not even finish any rail project after 16 years in office.

Ethiopia/Djibouti line is Electric, 759km, 115km double tracks, 68 Viaducts bridges, 21 stations with three tracks or more (except the one station which has only two tracks). Lagos/Ibadan is not in the swap.
