now thats sad for her fans!

even when her butt is kicked 6-0 6-0
you cant deny that she is one player people want to see out there
Re: Tennis: Rome Masters! by viee(f): 7:50pm On May 09, 2007
in the men's version
for me it is either Roger or Nadal

or more recently Nicholai and Murray

to me these players bring a lot of attention to tennis that it is almost like hollywood
Re: Tennis: Rome Masters! by Nobody: 8:07pm On May 09, 2007
Just drop Murray. Another over-hyped British talent. Nicholai who?

Novak Djokovic, Nadal, Federer, Canas, Fernando gonzalez, Marcos Baghdatis. . . now those are talents!

viee:

even when her butt is kicked 6-0 6-0

Yeah, people want to see her blonde hair, hear her duck squaks and her father Yuri!
Re: Tennis: Rome Masters! by viee(f): 8:20pm On May 09, 2007
Canas?, good when he is at the top of his game

nadal, disappoints when u least expect

murray, the kid is good, though he is overhyped by the british media,

Marcos, use to be very good, but not so good this days

blake, always seem to be struggling

Novak, another great chap!!!!!!!, hope to see him really challenging for the top spot someday

gonzales, shines and dims, jus like marcos

Roger now thats the MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Tennis: Rome Masters! by Nobody: 8:45pm On May 09, 2007
Maybe you can mention how many top 200 players Murray has ever beaten on Clay. Nadal is on a winning streak of 72 games on clay. Talk of disappointing when you least expect.
Re: Tennis: Rome Masters! by PDF: 11:40pm On May 09, 2007
Simon Gilles continues his giant-crushing quest. He beat Canas in the second round. Ljubicic, Gasquet, Safin, Soderling have also been dumped out.

David, what's wrong with Blake?
Re: Tennis: Rome Masters! by profade1(m): 7:01am On May 10, 2007
Blake has this habit of seriously disappointing when you don't expect it. We all know he's good , so what could the problem be?

But at least there are some juicy pairings coming up.
Re: Tennis: Rome Masters! by viee(f): 1:29pm On May 10, 2007
when i say disappoint, im talking of on grass as well
he is World No 2 for Kris sake
so u should expect above average performance from him on both surfaces
Re: Tennis: Rome Masters! by aluwe(m): 1:37pm On May 10, 2007
I Predict Gonzlez v Nadal finals
Re: Tennis: Rome Masters! by doyin13(m): 2:41pm On May 10, 2007
i think you guys are a bit unfair on Murray. He might be overhyped but there is some substance to the hype. He has quite a good touch for a big man, strong on both back and fore hand although he seriously needs to work on his stamina. Besides he hasn't played on clay that often.

Nadal to win

Re: Tennis: Rome Masters! by viee(f): 7:24pm On May 10, 2007
guess so, he will also be playing on grass
Re: Tennis: Rome Masters! by PDF: 8:10pm On May 10, 2007
I just love him for his sportsmanship; he hardly gives excuses. Here is what he said after his defeat:

It's disappointing, but there's nothing you can do about it. That's knock-out tennis," said a downcast Federer, denying he was ill or injured and dismissing the heat on Rome's centre court as a contributing factor to his defeat.

"I played good in my first match (to beat Nicolas Almagro), and usually after the first game I play better and better, but today was the opposite.

"On clay you need to be solid, and I wasn't. I don't know if you can say I was playing shockingly, but I was making a lot of mistakes, serving badly -- giving him second serves all the time.

"It sometimes happens, but usually I get through. And Volandri played well. Everyone is talking about how I played, but he already played well against (13th seed Richard) Gasquet (in the previous round).

"I know his game. I played a tough match against him here a few years ago, I played him in the juniors, so I know how tough he can be," added the Swiss.

Gonzalez - Massu 6-7, 6-3, 6-4
Robredo - Simon 6-2, 6-2
Davydenko - Starace 4-6, 6-2, 7-5

Nadal - Youzhny 6-2, 6-2
Re: Tennis: Rome Masters! by PDF: 10:12pm On May 10, 2007
Quarter final Fixtures:

Filippo Volandri (ITA) vs. Tomas Berdych (CZE)
Juan Ignacio Chela (ARG) vs. Fernando Gonzalez (CHL)
Tommy Robredo (ESP) vs. Nikolay Davydenko (RUS)
Novak Djokovic (SRB) vs. Rafael Nadal (ESP)

Djokovic/Nadal is definitely the match of this round. Remember, Djokovic is the last man to beat Nadal, though not on clay.
Re: Tennis: Rome Masters! by doyin13(m): 10:19pm On May 10, 2007
i saw the davydenko- starace match. davydenko sure cut it close. starace was down 3-5 in the final set, broke back, but lost his serve to lose 5-7. Best match so far of the clay court season
Re: Tennis: Rome Masters! by doyin13(m): 10:21pm On May 10, 2007
i so want Nadal to lose.
