That suggestion is not worth considering because it has been made by a person who is obviously too lazy to bother to read not to talk of think and reason except to consider paying seun so brainless people can't quote buda.

the first solution to all these is to subject these herdsmen to the law. They can't be grazing for free. They should pay tax to the respective states they graze their cattle.

Nigeria is lawless. In its primitive form with no sense of orderliness and conformity.

Nigeria is not lawless. "Some Nigerians" are what are lawless but they do not constitute the whole known as Nigeria. They want you to think Nigeria is lawless though because once you think Nigeria is lawless they have beaten you. In their lawless world anybody can go on another persons father's land and behave however they want and that's why we fight their lawlessness.

In the Orolu Kingdom we have "behave well" carved onto our faces which are markers so everyone knows which compound we dared bring bad behaviour out of. To foreigners we say, "Dem never born your father!"

Is this not the reason why the government introduced NLTP/RUGA.

RUGA/NLTP = Controlled, centralized, monitored and organized animal husbandry business for interested livestock farmers and investors, not just headers.

It means no more herdsmen running around the country, no more destroying farms and no more clashes with farmers.

We slaughter and consume tens of thousands of cattle per day, that's billions per day that the headers and owners are not sharing with the rest of Nigeria especially where they graze, but NLTP/RUGA means they have to share in form of taxes and be regulated.

This program is more than the ill-informed and paranoid noise people are passing around on the internet, it's turning to graze into a regulated livestock business as they have in other countries, we are talking about full-scale grazing to abattoir services, meat and meat product processing, packaging, tannery and so on.

Apart from we have the usual shortsighted, paranoid and tribalistic mentality portion of Nigeria that rejects credible ideas and programs, a large segment of the Nigerian population are ignorant and instead of seeking knowledge to learn and educate themselves about issues, they consume rumors and fake trash other people pass around on the internet or beer parlor.

In the SW alone, they consume almost 20,000 cattle per day, but is the state getting a cut of the daily multi billion naira cattle trade? I don't think so.

It's either they set up their own ranch as a business and for food security measure or offer land and let other entities invest and manage the ranches.

They do not currently graze for free. I am from the Orolu Kingdom of Ifon Osun where cattle herding is huge business so the chiefs collect money from the herders who must behave or we the people will revolt! When you complain to the chief that Fulani cattle ate your crops, the chief will only give you a part of the compensation he gets on your behalf. Even the cattle the fulani herdsman is herding belongs to the chief, in most instances. They are not forcing any religion on anyone nor are they kidnapping anyone. If they do, we will adopt a new Oro Cattle Eating Festival!

Ranching will force herdsmen to stop moving cattle around spreading diseases and eating up poor farmer crops. It will make them taxable because we would know where their assets are and it would revolutionise the cattle business and wrest it from backward Fulani herdsmen who lack modern cattle rearing knowledge. We will also be able to monitor the quality of the meat we eat.

Meat production is way too large an industry to neglect as we currently do considering the benefits, only some of which are laid out in the op. The entire industry needs to be revolutionised.
Is there no law in place to help deal with such corrupt rulers who get paid by herdsmen? If the law can't handle them what makes you think it will work after herdsmen get lands?

If the law can't subdue their excesses now what makes you think it will after they get land? Do poultry farmer operate in settlements before govt taxes them? If no, why must herdsmen be in settlenents? It is a ploy at consolidating the lawlessness of a tribe over others.
Let Buhari uphold the laws currently in place and deal with killer herdsmen appropriately.

The land is not going to be solely for Fulani headers and the program is a broad and comprehensive plan that goes beyond herdsmen, it's going to be a confined and controlled space with other investors and businesses and if crimes are committed, you know where to go and who to arrest, unlike the current situation where they are mobile and move from state to state and town to town.

Do poultry farmer operate in settlements before govt taxes them? If no, why must herdsmen be in settlements? It is a ploy at consolidating the lawlessness of a tribe over others.

Poultry farmers are situated permanently in the business locations, they don't move around the country with their chickens, the government knows where to go to collect taxes from poultry farmers, but where do you go to tax herders? You don't know and you can not stop them on the side of the road with to tax them so the only solution is to confine and tax them as a business.

Let Buhari uphold the laws currently in place and deal with killer herdsmen appropriately.

If Benue anti open grazing law couldn't stop them how will one useless ruga settlement ever do. You being economical with the truth here. Let all herdsmen be licences and registered, then let them be regulated and mandated to be in ranch. The only difference from ruga is that they get to pay for land and can thus choose to even ranch in GRAs or Victoria Island. Ruga settlement is fake domination idea.

"Nigeria" did not say no to Ruga! Only poor and illiterate Nigerians who have not bothered to fully study the Livestock Transformation Development Plan and show how ignorant they are by calling it Ruga to start with, have rejected it. Smart business inclined Nigerian leaders in the communities are clearing land and setting up their own ranches as we speak.
Why are you trying desperately to help politicians in their lie?
Livestock Transformation Development Plan is not same as RUGA.
Livestock Transformation Development Plan is mostly about ranching and all the things you listed above but Fulani doesn't want ranching. They want grazing by all means and that is why they want the idea of a large expanse of land where they will graze and then coupled with other benefits of LTDP. Isnt that funny and fishy at the same time?
LTDP s what Osibanjo approved and Buhari and his brothers stole in the RUGA idea from the back to confuse people.
That is why the VP vehemently denied that he is the one in charge of RUGA when they implied so. Do you think he didn't know there were differences before he denied it?

Whatever term you give it today, most non slavish southern and middle Beltan states will no longer take it because they know it will ultimately be a plan to resettle Fulani from both Nigeria and West Africa throughout Nigeria.
That is a huge no. It is not like you are resettling people with no agenda however a people that is already killing you when you havent given them your land.
Imagine what happens when you map out a portion of your land for them.
No amount of painting or coloration will sell the idea now.
People have seen where the whole thing is going.

Some group of foreigners came through our bothers and then started killing our people and then boom federal government decided to reward killers of men, women, children and babies with our own land.

The first thing they should do is to arrest those killers and make sure they are disarmed and made to face to full weight of the law and from there we can subject them to buy land from willing sellers and set up their ranch. But till date none of the Fulani terrorist has been made to face the law,the arrested ones have been freed by the police without trial and here you are advocating that we should give them land. The Hausa have resided in the Orolu Kingdom for decades and have not been troublesome. These days, if Bintu does not tell you she is Hausa you would not be able to tell. They arrived when kolanut was in its heyday and never left. They are now major importers of maize and beans to the Orolu Kingdom, which they use as a depo for repackaging before sending it all over Nigeria.

Ajokuta ma momi have taken over at Agunbalewo along the Osogbo-Ogbomoso Road. Their arrival and ability to do what we never did has spurred us on to compete with them by setting up our own shops next to theirs turning Agunbalewo into the Alaba Market of Osun State. Competition means we don't need to go and purchase electronics in Lagos anymore.

The Orolu Kingdom is in Yorubaland and perhaps we are intelligent such that foreigners do not enter our land and scare us like them seem to do in your mind. When foreigners live in our Rome they become Romans. Nobody comes to dominate us in The Orolu Kingdom.
History is there for you to learn from. Land is a scarce resources in this present world and should not be handed to any body for free

All I See In RUGA Is Jobs:
1. RUGA will employ more than 5000 qualified vetinary doctors nationwide.
2. RUGA will employ more than 6000 including myself in the grass farming business.
3. Abattoir services around the RUGA States will employ another 3000 or more.
4. Pharmacy services for vetinary doctors around these RUGA States will employ additional 1000-2500.
5. Sanitary Inspections officers will be employed to control hygiene in the RUGA States. Maybe another 500-1000.
6. More 1000-2500 Quarantine officers will be needed to control, constrain, and contain movement of unhealthy or infected cows.
7. Milk and other diary products factory will employ more than 5000-10,000 factory hands.
8. Middlemen around the supply chain in the RUGA value chain can take upward of 50,000 people.
9. In Cross River State for example, RUGA States can buy rice seedlings from the seedling factory in Calabar to feed to cows. The factory can employ more than 1000-5000 people just taking others from RUGA States.
Stupidity is when we close our minds to positivity. It is so sad that you people don't know how to lift yourselves from poverty mentality.
If China, Switzerland, Ireland, Sweden, and Australia can do it, Nigeria can do too.
