Camille Schrier is a biochemist and recently, was crowned Miss Virginia. She didn’t wow the crowd in a stunning bikini, she went further than that.



Camille showcased her talents with an exciting science experiment. She steps onto stage in a lab coat and goggles which caught everyone’s attention.

She further proceeded to display the catalytic decomposition of hydrogen peroxide and after carefully mixing chemicals into beakers in various solutions, she concluded with an amazing explosion of foam in blue and orange, more commonly known as the Elephant Toothpaste reaction to lab folk.



The Miss America website suggests a focus on women rather than stereotypes:

“ We are no longer a pageant. Miss America will represent a new generation of female leaders focused on scholarship, social impact, talent, and empowerment” said Gretchen Carlson, Chair of the Board of Trustees.

“We’re experiencing a cultural revolution in our country with women finding the courage to stand up and have their voices heard on many issues.
