Perhaps a “protest” is not the best approach...

But Pastor Adeboye sets himself out as a MORAL AUTHORITY in Nigeria (and many times have commented on the state of the nation). Accordingly, it is not inherently misdirected for people to request that he lend his much-avowed (and much-respected in many quarters) MORAL AUTHORITY towards addressing and redressing some of the many pressing problems of the nation.

Meanwhile, the number of times the term “insult” appears in the CAN statement unfortunately betrays that the Nigerian religious establishment hardly grasps (nor internalizes) the basic concept of HUMILITY upon which their ministry is supposedly anchored. Instead, much like their counterparts in government, they often are contemptuous of the masses whose money they live on.
