Committee without commitment.

Who did we offend?

Did Boris Johnson form any committee?

2 weeks after, the British PM has met a number of PMs and has travelled for urgent and important meetings.

Our own people are still chopping life inside the rock!

Who did we offend?

After the jamboree and mediocre screening, another committee again?

It’s an in-house/informal advisory committee made up of his very close advisers and kitchen cabinet members. It’s very normal in every presidency. The president is not a super human who will personally know all the 43 minister designates that were nominated by state governors and party leaders. You don’t expect only him to singlehandly review their resumes and assign portfolios to them arbitrarily.

What is most important is that portfolios should be assigned based on competency, loyalty to the country and good understanding of the next level policy of the administration.

If na person wey saaabi,he should know at least 80% of those people..Me sef wey no dey presidency know at least 37 out of them and I know the portfolio those 37 can work..They are not new people, they are people we don know before now..so why setting up another useless committee again..Ohh sorry, tommorow he would blame the PDP again as usual..

But why is Buhari life like these? Why is this old man love pissing people off all the time? It took ages to choose his minister and now another months to decide who take what ministry m. God how do we get here

Now another open door for Ghana must go to flows like a river and corruption keep thriving more and more.

Buhari what is your problem for God sake? Act at least for once as a boss just for once. You don't need any thief commitee to tell anything do your personal check on them and put them in field of their familiar discipline and whoever fail to deliver fire him and put someone else.

Na wah for Buhari oo.

Like are u serious?! He kept nodding his head in affirmation to every Candidate "nominated by state governors and party leaders", without any knowledge of certainty as to where (ministries) they would serve

What then are the chances that these are even "competent" enough to serve in the first place as to understanding the next level policy of his administration fella?

So you need a committee to give your ministerial nominees portfolios?

Our president had no portfolio in mind for his nominees; so on what criteria where they selected?

The battle for slots – and the speculations – in the 43-man cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari intensified yesterday, with ministers-designate trying to outwit one another.

The President is said to have raised a Kitchen Cabinet advisory committee on how to put a round peg in a round hole.

The advisory committee is said to have concentrated on the 29 new members who are joining the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

Most of the 14 old ministers will return to their portfolios, according to sources close to the committee.

But there is a pall of uncertainty over Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, even as Monday is tentatively slated for the inauguration of the ministers.

Ministers-designate have been meeting some power brokers to intercede on their behalf for portfolios where they will be able to influence decisions, The Nation learnt.

Some ministers-designate are said to be lobbying for ministries where they can impact on the lives of Nigerians with much visibility.

Some of the ministers-designate have, however, been suspected of lobbying for some portfolios, which they believe can help to oil their political machines ahead of the 2023 general elections.

A source, who spoke in confidence, said: “Most of the ministers-designate have stayed put in Abuja to outplay each other in the lobbying for portfolios. Since they have no direct access to the President, they have been mounting pressure on some power brokers and members of the President’s Kitchen cabinet.

. With due respect to His excellency I dont think this is necessary. All of them have their areas of specialisation A minister is an administrator. with a specific discipline.... Forming a committee to assign port folios is a waste of time and absolutely unnessary

If it were Johnathan or pdp, buhari/Apc would have quickly branded this as avenue of corruption, but now it's chief saint himself so it's ok,but is this not the more reason why ministers should be nominated with portfolio attached before screening?.
