In this article, we are going to look briefly at the New Age Jesus taught by presidential candidate Marianne Williamson, and how this teaching actually fulfills prophecy Jesus made about the end times.

Marianne Williamson is a 2020 US Presidential candidate for the Democrat party who has been getting a lot of press lately in the mainstream media. According to Google statistics, she was the most internet searched candidate during CNN's July 30 debate.

She's also one of the most prominent New Age teachers in the last 20 years. She is a many-time NY Times best-selling author, and someone who has been promoted on Oprah multiple times as a favourite of hers because of her views on spirituality.

The point of this video is not to bash, as we should love and pray for her, but to simply make America aware of what she believes about Jesus Christ, and how this specific doctrine she teaches may actually tie in to prophecy Jesus made about end times. She may be very well-intentioned and may have some great ideas and policies, but something bigger is at stake here for the church and for the country.

Jesus' Prophecy About Deception

Here is what Jesus says in Matthew 24:3-5:

"Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?" And Jesus answered them, "See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and they will lead many astray."

Jesus tells us that the end of the age will be marked by people who claim to be Christ. Now, this COULD be a reference to the dozen or so people who have claimed to literally be Jesus and their small cult followings that have all dissolved with time, but could it be referring to something different?

Could it be referring to the same lie Satan told Even when he promised her she could become divine, and that in the last days many will claim to be divine in the same way Jesus was? Will people claim to be Christ because they think they're Jesus? Or will they claim to be Christ because they think they're divine in the same way Christ was?

It's entirely possible that Jesus is warning us not about Jesus imposters, but about a false doctrine of man's deity that causes false teachers to lead people astray by claiming to be Christ. Jesus doesn't say many will claim to be Jesus, he said many will claim to be Christ. And the thing is, "I am Christ" is what every New Age teacher believes about themselves.

The article acts as if Marianne Williamson is actually a leading candidate. She's not. In fact, she's almost certain to be rendered irrelevant within a week.

The next Democratic Party debate is in September. Now, to have any actual chance of becoming the Democratic candidate for president, you essentially HAVE to be in the debates. No one takes you seriously if you're not there. If you miss the debates, you're not getting the nomination. But to be in the debates, you have to meet the requirements. One of the requirements to be in the next debate is to reach 2% or higher in at least four polls. Marianne Williamson... has done so in zero. The deadline to reach the required four polls is August 28. It's theoretically possible to do so in the intervening time period, but it's astoundingly unlikely.

I guess we'll see for sure in a week, but it's very odd for the article to make a big deal out of a candidate who can't even be counted as one of the top 10.

Christ Consciousness

As Eckhart Tolle says:

"Christ is your God essence, or the Self, as it is sometimes called in the East. Christ refers to your indwelling divinity regardless of whether you are conscious of it or not."

The New Age movement actually fulfills this prophecy by teaching a doctrine called Christ Consciousness. The idea here is that Jesus was an ordinary human being who incarnated here 2000 years ago and reached a state of enlightenment where he realised that He was ultimately unified with God, just as we are all.

We are all God, and Jesus is someone who self-realised his own deity. Jesus lived from a state of consciousness of realising that He, and everything else in life, is God. All is God, and God is all, and to live from this state of mind is to embody the consciousness that Christ had, and to step into your Christ-Self.

Since you have indwelling divinity, that makes you Christ, just like it makes Eckart Tolle Christ. From Tolle, Deepak Chopra to Neale Donald Walche, tens of millions of books have been sold teaching people that they are ultimately Christ. I remember being on a call one time with a very influential New Age leader back when I was involved in that movement, and he literally looked at me in the eyes and said "I am Christ."

Every New Age teacher believes this about themselves, and Marianne Williamson is no exception to this, as her statements about Jesus are just as troubling. Here is what she says.

"Jesus was a human being who while on earth completely self-actualised and fulfilled in all ways the potential glory that lies within us all. He became one with the Essence and Christ Spirit that is in all of us..To say there is "only one begotten son" doesn't mean that someone else was it, and we're not. It means we're all it. There's only one of us here…Jesus actualised the Christ mind, and was then given the power to help the rest of us reach that place within ourselves. He was sent down by God – as we all are."

"'Accepting the Christ' is merely a shift in self-perception…Even if he takes another name, even if he takes another face, he is, in essence, the truth of who we are." – A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles, pg. 32

She also vehemently pushes and teaches from a New Age book called "A course in miracles." In fact, her entire life's work is based off of the teachings in this book, which says this about Jesus:

"IS HE (JESUS) THE CHRIST? O YES, ALONG WITH YOU." (C.5.5:1)

From this, we can see that Marianne Williamson believes and teaches that she, and everyone else, is both God and Christ. Jesus tells us that the end of the age will be marked by a deception where many say "I am Christ," and Marianne Williamson believes, and teaches, really that she is Christ. She believes she is God like Jesus was, and that she is Christ like Jesus was. She, and everyone else who is spirituality self-realised, is Christ. This is what her statements about Jesus clearly imply.

Do we see how this spiritually philosophy of hers actually fulfills Biblical prophecy that Jesus made about the end of the age? Jesus said that many will be led astray by those who proclaim to be Christ, and now we have someone running for US president with the hopes of reshaping the future of America who believes that she is Christ.

Her views about Jesus should concern us to the point of her being ruled out as an option for president. Jesus alone is God in the flesh, Jesus alone is Christ, and as Christians I don't believe we should be be voting for people who are competing with Him for that title.

This is not only to alert believers of the deception in the democrat candidates it is also to remind us of deception of the New Age movement that has crept into many of the pentecostal churches selling the evil doctrine of self consciousness, teaching that they are Christ or god.
