You must certainly be an "Indomie generation". Anyone who is NOT an Indomie generation know that there was an unprecedented change in the Nigerian society from the 90s. If you were not at least 5years old by then, you CANNOT know.

Did your parent lock the TV with keys for you?
Did NTA and other TV station open at 4pm and close by 12am?
Do you know Frank Olize.
Have you ever witnessed the acrobatic riders that followed military government entourage?
Do you know how military coups have been done in Nigeria?
Have you ever witnessed a firing squad in operation?
Have you ever operated a coin operated phone in Nigeria (at NITEL or Post Office)?

Indomie generation is used to describe those who didn't know these but are loud mouthed in giving myopic comments about National affairs that has to do with history.

It has nothing to do with lack of intelligence (for isn't a function of age)
exactly they are the ones that their mouths will be doing beley beley as if they know everything and have all the answers grin

Meanwhile when you shake them intellectually you'll see they don't have much substance cheesy

Alright. But being an indomie generation isn't totally bad. One can't change his birth time tho. But it's one of those egoistic remarks we make on our younger ones, once in a while.

It actually should be seen as fun tho

I guess the generation Z are the supposed "indomie" generation.

By the way, the slogan earned its name from the star age group of the brand's customers.

Actually when people refer to any individual as an indomie generation,it means the person is young, naieve and ignorant of WHAT HE SHOULD KNOW OR IS EXPECTED TO KNOW

You know how millennials are.young, dumb, entitled, lazy yet they always think they're smarter than king Solomon.those are what characterize indomie generation

Then again you know indomie is just 2 minutes?,they want to do/have everything fast without taking the patience to go through the process and learn

Bottom line sha is that anyone that has childish behaviour or displays little knowledge of history and it shows is what they call indomie generation.for example if I am discussing with a friend and I say I enjoy the music syncro system and millennials interject and say who sang syncro system or who sang redemption song, or doesn't know that once upon a time in Nigerian history MTN SIM or mobile phones were only used by the elites and mercedes Benz were only used by big boys or rich men's kids to woo girls on campus.i'Il quickly know this one is an indomie generation child grin

One of the indomie generation child is below me.he just proved my point aptly of the reasoning and characteristics of an indomie generation grin

And yes the society was better then because we could leave our kids with neighbors and go to the market without fear of anything.anyone that tries it now,na sorry be him name,we could close our doors without padlocking or fencing it yet nobody will steal our stuffs

We could buy stuffs from market women and drop the money on the wares and whenever the owner of the product comes she will pick her money because people lived with CONTENTMENT AND MODESTY grin

Those days you could take 100 naira to the market and stock up your kitchen to the brim because food was cheap.eggs were 10 Naira, small coke was 15 Naira and the big one was 25 naira

With 30naira you can enter molue from mile 2 to festac

Festac was a peaceful, tranquil and safe haven before it became a den of pickpockets, armed robbers, kidnappers and Yahoo boys. you can go to a relaxation joint with just 500 naira and buy drinks and pepper soup to your satisfaction even as late as 2am and you are safe.if you walk around festac by 11.54 you will be sorry for yourself.infact by 7pm shop owners are closing when it was even at that time faaji was getting started

Never did I know festac will deteriorate to the level it is now

Those days you will beg, stalk and write several letters before you can manage to see a woman's cleavage.female nudity was rare but now you can meet a girl in tfc,buy her meat pie and in the twinkle of an eye you have bleeped her without much effort

Now men don't have to leave their house before they order for vagina online and the vagina will be brought to their doorsteps with just online booking

Millennials,I hope you can now understand why the older generation are irritated with your ways and lifestyle of how you do your things.not that the older generation were saints or perfect but they do things with tact and discretion.now no single taste again

We also went to night club.they call one of the night clubs 11.45.i don't know whether it's still being operated? Even in the club they were sexy in our own standard of sexy then o but not naked or in colourful rags and bogus wigs and heinous make-up grin

Those days you could put rice of 20naira and egg 10naira into the flask of a child to school but now it is indomie they put in their food flask to school

You need to watch music videos of the 80s and 90s then compare it with the olamides, davido, dammy Krane, tiwa savage etc, then you'll understand my point and the level of deterioration

Even club girls those days had to be begged for several months or sometimes years to see the colour of her pant but these days even church girls,to enter her pant no go reach 2weeks

Then by 10pm TV station closed.it was just nta we had it will show different colours of lines before it closes and the TV shows were edifying not the ones kids cannot even watch.millenials don't even know the difference between family soap operas/family drama and soft porn

All our own entertainment didn't pass

Everyday people

Super story

Second chance
Gardner's daughter
Secret of the sand
And nta news.but now go to MTV naked video vixens, trace, naked women, everywhere nudity and sex

Also teenagers getting pregnant was a serious abomination, they were ostracized and the parents shamed so parents really monitored their kids till they got to university.its not like now ss2 boy will be fucking jss3 girl inside the school toilet or at the back of principals office grin

That's a term created by the self-righteous, self-important and incredibly arrogant older generation who grew up in the 60s-80s/very early 90s and are still stuck in their era and think that modern music, clothes and trends are shït. They are always caught saying "back in the days when the times were good" or "back when the society was still sane", they hate social media, teenagers, pop culture and they feel like they are better than everyone else. They can't accept the fact their generation is becoming irrelevant, they refuse to retire and pass the torch to the succeeding generations. They are self-conscious and insecure about their own advancing age, so they address 20 -somethings and teens as children in order to feel "young". They feel like because they played with sand as opposed to iPhones and tabs while growing up, they have higher intellectual capacities or something but that's BS. They are a hypocritical and arrogant generation that tries to discredit younger generations and tags them as lazy, dumb etc etc but it really ain't our fault that we are little privileged unicorns wink They feel they are better than everyone else because they played with certain toys, listened to certain music, lived a certain way of life and had certain experiences which thankfully cannot be recreated in modern times

ps
some of my write up is culled from urban dictionary

Modern music is shiit though.

my dear I have a lot of Indomie children around me and they're so spoilt and entitled.they want to watch hiptv and moviemagic all day.they want to pay others to do their school assignments for them while they go to party.they want to sleep while others go for lectures, they want ready made food without sweating in the kitchen grin

I dey always tug it out with them with insults before they can even wash the plates they use to eat

Indomie generation wey fit throway their pants because they're too lazy to wash it and feel entitled to collect money to buy new set of pants just because they're "big girls or big boys" grin

They also want to use tramadol and cocaine all day while their mates are in the library or researching

Seems to me like drugs is what they use to unwind grin

There is nothing weird about putting super story in d list. What is confusing u is because super story is still much alive till now on wap TV, so the young ones have also come to know about it, that does not make it a new tv series. I believe when super story was invoke u were still young, if not u wouldn't be here arguing about indomie generation. Arguing about indomie generation clearly indicate u are below 38yrs

Indomie debuted in the Nigerian market before Maggi 2 minutes noodles. At some point, Maggi 2 minutes noodles became almost more popular before it was stopped(dont know why they stopped the production). I started eating indomie in the early/mid 90s(around 92/93). Anyone born in the 70s - 80s who didn't taste indomie until 99/00, must have been due to social status of family, or unavailability of the products in the immediate environment where he/she lived. It's like growing up in the 70s/80s and not eating Uncle Benz rice, or not drinking Tree top.

It's not too much of their fault though. The older non-indomie generation slowly created a new world where the corrupt individuals and thieves have been celebrated and where values, law and justice failed etc. The Indomie generation don't have any reference to good standards that used to be taught everywhere before.

Couple the above with the information age, you arrive at a generation who think they know just because they have access to the "social media"
