As I understand ....do not judge refers judging if someone will enter Heaven. That judgement is reserved for God only. Anyone answering such a question is going directly against God's specific instruction... do not judge.

On confession.... any confession is between the person and Jesus. Why would someone confess to a pastor or priest?... is he the one that will free you of the sin? ... is he an agent?..... every man has to speak for himself.... the pastor has his own sins to confess. Does he confess his to others?... pastors be sleeping with church members upandan... do they confess to other pastors?... so why should anyone confess to them? Should you go and confess to pastor that you slept with Sister Lovely Legs two days ago.... what do you think he will do with that information confession?
Confess to no man period.... but go ask for forgiveness from the person you offended.

You are quite wrong on your first sentence.
Take a look at this;
James:5.16
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.


I am sure the above is very self explanatory. And you know its essence.
Only habitual sinners or should i say those who delibrately sin are supposed to be suspended. Don't get me wrong in this statement.

The reason this is not done is because in some gatherings, anyone who brings his sins/short comings to the pastor or any brethren will end up being the gist and gossip of the church. And in some instances that individual will be indirectly made a Sunday sermon in the church.


Another reason against this is if as a member or worker, I'm being made to confess my short comings to the pastor, who does the pastor confess his short comings to?

Yea.

However it doesn't stop at confessing. There is this parr that if not obeyed, the confession is just waste of time ... Though our worldwide churches do not say it.. They only say confess..


Forsaking it is the most life giving step ....


Remember Christ with the woman caught in adultery with a man too.

He didn't only forgive and stopped there, he said go and sin no more..

Sadly that's the part that will and has drawn many of the world population to hell. Its no curse, its reality. It's the Truth....

yes, it's important in most cases because it will make such individual to desist from that sin. it also serves as a wake up call for other sinners to repent.

I think it's a good church policy and tradition but not a bible law. Wisdom is profitable to direct. It may not necessarily be a confession before the whole church. I don't think the aim is to disgrace the erring one but for accountability. Since such a person might need to step back/down from church ministry for a while. Then there's need for the appropriate people to know why. In all, the Spirit of God should guide our actions. Some confession sef can weak many.
