Hi.

I'm sure every Nigerian is sad at heart. Irrespective of your tribe, state of origin, political affiliation, etc. We are sad. Very, very, very sad.

Below are some little stuffs I did that portray the state of my heart, especially regarding the recent events in our country.

I thought of creating this thread to share with you guys.

I truly do hope that we get it right someday.

Thanks for reading.

1. This is about the incident in the USA where some Nigerians were implicated in a case of internet fraud. It also talks about our politicians and how they take us for a ride.

***********************------------*************************

All over the news with over a million views,
The world over, hammering on the Nigerian crew.
They say we are crooked, for corruption we brew,
I try to tell them, the bad are few
But they say no! This lie ain't new.

I drag 'piration from Falz,
To his vocals Goliath must fall.
Arm yourselves let's go to war,
Our bullets, our words,
Our guns, our re-solve.

I'm tired of the bad -
The corrupt bring to our land.
They paint our nation black,
The green has left the flag.
They steal our resource, we clap
And they destroy our future, we nap.

2. Crime is everywhere. Crime is not localized. Crime destroys. Crime kills. Crime makes life difficult for all.

This piece is about everything that is wrong with Nigeria. I'm not picking on any particular group. My intention is honest. However, if this offends you in any way, please forgive me. It was the best way I knew how to write this.

Thanks for reading.

Amaka is a trader, she would love to go abroad,
Where the pasture is greener, where the system works,
But Obi, the Americana, got involved in fraud,
He swindled a big coy and the FBI got drawn,
Embassies got ordered, and visas were stopped,
Sorry, Amaka, you can't travel anymore.

Olu ain't joking, in this life, he must make it,
Tired of the suffering, he must get rich or die trying,
Who says you must go to school,
When you've got Sango in the hood,
Olu goes for consult, he was told to bring two girl skulls,
He pays for the contract,
"Make it clean," he orders,
He goes home to see his father,
And crying is the old man,
What now, he ponders,
The old man looks as he stammers:
For two nights, your sisters ain't back.

Young Adamu is only thirteen,
A naïve young boy, he is,
No education, just an almajiri,
Exposed to many teachings, not sure of which to believe.
Follow me, I'd teach you, says Alhaji,
We need to recruit you into God's army.
Kill many and make proud your 72 virgins,
Have no doubt for many already got it.
Blocks of C-4 tagged to his chest,
He matches to a future, that promises to be the best,
Like Adamu, many have been fooled,
Taking their lives and others', thinking they'd make the moon,
Wish they could come back after the boom.

3. Xenophobia. How I hate this word. We are being slain in our brothers' land. Properties destroyed. Nigerian lives chewed away like gum. Our leaders, the ones we put in the affairs of power, are not helping matters.

In sadness did I write this.

********************************************************

Ouch! I can feel the stab,
The blade of them knife tearing through my heart.
Blood dribbling, dripping on our flag,
Tears pouring, 'cause I'm crying for my land.

I'm asking, what did we do to deserve this?
Tell me if our lives are now cheap,
They killing us at home, and killing us in yankee
While our leaders are eating fat and looting.

Is the African giant now fatherless?
Is Africa's strongest now the weakest?
Are the lives of my brothers now the cheapest -
That all them buyers go for it in the market?

Build our home! Is this too much to ask for?
We put you on the throne, can kick you out if you fail us
I'm crying, pain flowing down my spine
My brothers are dying, while all you do is take wine

Nigerians, wake up!
Let's come together -
And chase these thieves in Aso out of power
Brothers, rise up!
Together we can conquer
For in the hands of the people is the power.

For every legit Nigerian in the diaspora subjected to unjust treatment.

#NotoXenophobia.
