Offpoint: south africans do travel, but only to Mozambique,Mauritius,Thailand,Bali, Seychelles and Europe for vacation. Lately due to our economic situation now travel to Namibia,Botswana and Zimbabwe. West and North Africa are to uncivilised for south africans to even think of going there. But generally South African don't like to immigrate no matter how bad things can be,they rather stay in their country and develop it to what they want it to be. The few that left during was because apartheid government wanted to kill them,so they had no choice but to leave. |

MetaPhysical: I strongly agree with your reference to the first law of nature, which is self preservation and I cannot agree less with the idea that there are usually systemic approaches by authorities to push cultural preservation theories. But then, there's no amount of extra-terrestial 'wisdom' that you may possess that beats the common logic of the sanctity of the human life. You cannot justify this break down of law and order under whose cover innocent people are being openly murdered, raped, looted, maimed and traumatized collectively Tell us Uncle Know-it-All, that you have never traveled out of your culture. And by extension, none of your darling ones have travelled out of your cocoon to prosper and enjoy other people's friendship and support. By making sweeping statements that 'this is common practice around the world' you justify this ignoble attack on humanity- in every sense of the word- and you shameless expose your fiat knowledge on human interaction, relationships, global cooperations, and the essence of the human race in general. Your innocuous thoughts present no solutions but condemnation of the victims. Ironic, isn't it. Take your wisdom back to the aliens somewhere between Pluto and the Sun, we have enough of your kinds roaming the streets of South Africa with clubs and cudgels murdering human friends and family, not less so our countrymen. It was our elders that said 'the coffin is mere wood until the content is ours' 15 Likes |

MetaPhysical:

Ok fine... I agree with u.... Africans are fiercely territorial and can kill when it comes to issues of land or territory.... Even in Nigeria, people get murdered over a plot of land.... The culture clash in Lagos is a good example of host v foreigner land domination issues despite Yoruba's claim to tolerance.... So we don't expect otherwise in South africa.... Moreso, they accusing Nigerians of drug trafficking, prostituting their young girls, taking their jobs and stealing their women.... But the question remain.... Can't their govt protect the border, limit immigration, round up illegals and deport them. Get police to arrest these foreign criminals, get them jailed and later deported.... We all know crime thrive when there's lawlessness.... No criminal wants to end in jail, if he knows the reward of his illicit activity is jail time, he will think twice.... That's the solution to this problem and not burning people or looting shops.... Posts on south African social media space shows that these attacks has the populace support and appeal.... The govt should listen to the people and act accordingly.... This thing has been going on too long... Talks like we helped black SA during apartheid or we are all africans are inconsequential now..... Every country has every right to protect its borders.... Even uk is kicking fellow white Europeans away.... A.U and other African leaders should put pressure on the SA govt to come up with pragmatic solutions to end this xenophobic once and for all.... It's becoming embarrassing...... |

Offpoint: most south african tourists are black,go to mauritius.bali and mozambique for example you will see. South africa has the richest black people,in terms of purchasing power and is growing daily. Most White nowadays don't have the cash to travel a lot,the only time they leave the country is when they go to Namibia,Zimbabwe, Botswana and white middle class to Thailand. |

SayginSA: It is also well-known that majority of South Africans (all races, rich or poor) prefer their own country to anywhere else. We're not travellers by nature, not because of finances or circumstance.

Yes you have the right to defend your land. But thats not the best way of defending it by burning down shops owned by foreigners and killing dem. Better immigration and economy policy can take care of it. 1 Like 1 Share |
