It's a known fact that most churches, with due apologies to mention the parent churches of Anglican and Catholic, don't agree to bury a member who is financially indebted to the church.

The only condition for a funeral service to be conducted by the church, is the clearance of the deceased debts by the living.

I want to actually know the true scriptural reason for such church principle.

What's your take?

The question should be directed to the Catholic church in my village . They have masters in that field... Even to get married as a young man or woman, you need to be charged outrageous in the name of clearance

No valid Scriptural references for the practice in Christendom.
It is greed, exploitation and insensitivity packaged as Christianity.
Your church membership is not based upon your genuine faith in God & committed practice of the precepts of Jesus Christ, but rather, it's dependent on a fee, monetary dues ( Social club or Age Grade Cultural Society or Professional Body, Yes. Church, No !)it has no foundation in true Christianity.
Jesus Christ and his followers NEVER practiced such.

Is the Church, now a club or an association?
