The only thing KWASU did was to provide a bigger canopy outside the hall and placed TV's showing what was happening in the hall...even with the canopy..he no still reach....

I can't help but blame the recorder for this. It had to be in the car....

I find it very difficult to believe this version of the story. Crescent University is one if the best organised university in Nigeria. They have a lot of respect for the parents and the parents forum consists of old and young people of repute. Am sure this story is been polished and exaggerated because it involves a journalist. It could be a trivial issue that could have been resolved amicably. Please, let's move on.

This is a blantant lie. Arrangements are usually made by most schools for parents and guardians during convocation. That is why some schools even give two Invitation cards to each graduating students for their parents as a form of pass.

That mushroom school just happen to lack good organisation

Any higher institution that will not make arrangements for at least 2 guests for the graduate did not plan well who are the invited guests ,hear auntie journalist say the angry mob ,if you are a parent and disallowed to enter the hall will you be happy. The management should apologise to the parents if the students are not there who will the journalist and invited guests attend to

Seriously this story is half truth. The University had given invitations to all graduating students and the program slated for 10am. No organize university would allow parents to come in after the academic possession. Some parents were trying to gain entrance to the hall around 1pm for a program of 10am and were later denied entrance. Then whose faults?

So let’s give the parents the greatest benefit of the doubt and assume (using the same power of omnipotence that you apparently possess) that the lady journalist “insulted” them (of course, in Nigeria it’s sometimes difficult to figure out what some folks would regard as an “insult” - from not doing Dobale for an unrelated elder to asking a friend/family member to repay the money they owe you), in your worldview the correct response to a perceived insult is to beat her up - even in front of their own and/or other people’s children?! Great role models, no doubt. SMH

Glad you recognize that my so-called “type” will neither be persuaded that basic decency is the sole preserve of the ‘western word’ (sic) nor that people who resort to physical violence (even in front of own their kids) due to perceived slights are not akin to animals belonging to a ZOO!
