0monnak0da: "Yet in spite of being so dominant, the Yoruba complained and complained of marginalization. Of recent, in recognition of the trauma which hit the South-West after June 12, the rest of the country forced everyone out of the race to ensure that a South-Westerner emerged, often against the best advice of political activists." -Sanusi Lamido Sanusi (from his famous article, "Yorubas Are The Problem of Nigeria" Abeg you people should go and look for better ways to promote the Tinubu 2023 pipedream Face el-rufai and babagana kingibe who the north are going to choose from 1 Like |

0monnak0da: "In the recent transition when the Igbo solidly supported the PDP in the hope of an Ekwueme presidency, the North and South-West treated this as a Biafra agenda.Every rule set for the primaries, every gentleman´s agreement was set aside to ensure that Obasanjo, not Ekwueme emerged as the candidate. Things went as far as getting the Federal Government to hurriedly gazette a pardon. Now, with this government, the marginalistion of the Igbo is more complete than ever before" Sanusi Lamido Sanusi (from his famous article Yorubas are the Problem of Nigeria) There was an unwritten agreement by the elite for a Yoruba man to become president. Igbo elite like Jim Nwobodo who famously spoke in Hausa during the PDP convention were in on it and worked against Ekwueme. Orji Uzor Kalu's role is not forgotten too. Nice try OP but some of us remember these things and will always puncture your propaganda 2 Likes |

Excuse me sir, can't you argue your case without dragging the Yorubas along? Are the Igbos playing the kind of Politics that Yorubas are playing or the Igbos are abusing the Yorubas and calling them slaves? Why demanding to be treated like the Yorubas you so much hate? oyatz: This is why I say they are childish You are arguing with a people that are determined not to reason but will throw all manner of sentimental nonsense at you For them the truth is just an inconvenience They should explain how they collaborated with the same north to relegate Awolowo to oppostion FOUR TIMES 1960 1965 1979 1983 Even in 1993 they voted Tofa against Abiola and no one talked of war. In 1999 and 2003 Ekwueme contested How then can you now say Yoruba in APC should not contest Did APGA not contest? The Print media was largely in the hands of the west in those days. I challenge them to bring one newspaper where the SW so much as questioned their decision to form coalition with the north We respect everyone's right to make choices Let them stop the blackmail 4 Likes |

Johans1991:Because they know the outcome already. They will be disgraced. Instead of taking a strategic position and seek to mend their ways they are resorting to empty threats driven by hubris Nigerians will only vote a people committed to Nigeria. All this talk of Biafra does not help their case but they expect to continue the same action ,the same pattern and achieve a different outcome. If they do no learn humility and collaboration they can forget it. No one owes them anything. They must learn genuine humilty which from all the evidence is a very long thing People will vote an Eboe president not out of sympathy but because they believe it is their interest to do so The task of the Eboes is to CONVINCE people. Their current approach is doing the exact opposite. They have said there will be war if they are not elected so many people want to see that war 2 Likes |

Nobody was forced out of any race. The only group of politicians who CONCEEDED (not forced out) were Northern politicians. Even at then, the former Governor of Kano State,Alh Abubakar Rimi still contested in the 1999 PDP primary election. nku5: 2 Likes |

Even right now, ONLY the PDP have zoning in it's Constitution. I am not a fan of zoning. Let El-Rufai, Atiku, Kwankwanso or whomever wants to contest seek their parties' presidential ticket. With time, we will all see that all these fears of marginalization will fizzle out. A Yoruba, Nupe, Igbo, Kanuri or Bini presidential candidate can win a Presidential election against ANY candidate if he/she command the Goodwill of the largest number of Nigerians. This will surely happen...may be not in 2023. i DMerciful: |

raumdeuter:There was indeed a gang up in 1960,1965,1979,1983 and 1993(it was one of them that went to court against the June 12 elections) A gang up that saw Awo jailed and martial law imposed in the Western Region. Yoruba endured and persevered and never threatened war. The problem these folk have is they do not think that their actions have consequences and feign surprise when they are repaid in the same coin. The person who defecates anonymously in a communal space forgets but those who clean up do not. It is convenient for them now to forget when the clear message from them from day one of antipathy is unmistakable. Did Yoruba even ask them for one day why they did not vote for Abiola? Or question their choices in 1960,1965,1979,1983? 1 Like |

Dishonesty is in your DNA sir. 1) Obasanjo was granted pardon by the Military Junta headed by Gen Abdulsalami Abubakar in 1998. 2) The PDP convention was held in 1999 and the PDP came to power on May,29,1999 3) How could PDP which didn't exist when Obasanjo was released in 1998 had hurriedly granted Obasanjo a State pardon? 4) How did a State pardon in 1998 affected the conduct of PDP primaries in 1999? So the PDP zoned it's presidential ticket to the Yorubas and it was known to everybody yet astute politicians like Dr Alex Ekwueme, Chief Jim Nwobodo, Don Etiebet, Philip Asiodu and Graham-Douglas spent billions, went to PDP stakeholders all over Nigeria and contested the primaries of the party in Jos? You dont understand political planning. Was Abdulsalami not planning to handover in 1999 as at 1998? Why did the said military hurriedly gazzette a pardon? Did they go through a legal process to know if he was actually guilty? See, there was no time cause election was less than a year away and legal processes takes time so to give Obj a chance, the granted a pardon hurriedly. Go and read Sanusi famous article where is said Yorubas are the problem of Nigeria, he clearly stated it there. oyatz: |

clarocuzioo: It'll be difficult for North to continue except you lack knowledge of what happened between 1992 and 1999. The North cannot hold on to power for long, though they've got the number but can't face the SW and SS troubles... that'll be the end of the country if they tried such, as they can't imagine Lagos and it's ports, their investments like Dangote's, Rabiu's, etc and SS's oil money slipping away; they are actually wiser than most of us in the south think. They will eventually want someone from SW and probably later from SS to be the president. Though some of us want SE's president but the reality of thing is far from such; emotions and name callings do not produce a president. Although SE had been partnering the North since 1954 except in 2015 but they had failed to set the terms and when the North was forgetting Biafra, there comes GEJ's issue and Kanu's revival of hatred. To some scholars, democracy is a worst form of government in a multi-ethnic nation like Nigeria. A group can simply be sidelined without a perfect constitution and numbers. Hence there is need for new constitution (which will have the regional Independence Clause the Eastern leaders rejected in the 50s) and true federalism (which Ironsi canceled in 1966). 1 Like |

You are just jumping from pillar to post. Everybody knows its Igbos turn but the challenge with you guys now is how do we cheat them and justify it hence all these 'beautiful' reasons. You claimed Igbos do not build alliances, yorubas build alliances yet the dont have investment or houses in the North. You dont trust the North not to take houses in the event of conflict yet you pretend that this is a nation. oyatz: |

From your writeup, you agree a restructured Nigeria will be better than this. One now wonder why the SW opposes restructuring even though they were the major proponents in the 90s. Is it because Igbos are pro-restructuring? alablec: |
