George Weah’s Liberia was ravaged by war when he was on top, so he couldn’t have achieved the national accolade Eto achieved.

Eto bursted to the scene at a young age and has been consistent ever since but he had a peaceful country to return to. Weah during his illustrious club career never had the luxury.

Both are really great players but for consistency, Eto edges it.

If he had come in the time of George Weah, he'd have won the balloon d'or more than two times. I won't argue with what Eto'o said, the likes of Okocha and Kanu weren't as lucky as him, if they had found themselves in a team like Barca at their prime with players like Ronaldinho, Xavi, Iniesta and Messi in the team, Eto'o wouldn't have had the guts to say all these.
