I am really afraid of the kind of work (career) I do I go offshore and spend like 4 weeks offshore in every 8 weeks. The 4 weeks I spend onshore, I spend more than 3 weeks of it in the office I leave my house by 7am and return home like 8pm - 9pm daily. I even get to work some weekends and public holidays for instance, 2moro and next are public hols in Nigeria and I'll be in the office I am afraid that when I get married, my wife will not be able to tolerate working like this and myself, running the family over the phone. NLders, gents and ladies; whats your opinion on this? Ladies. will you accept such husband? Guys, is there a way out of this and is it generally acceptable? hope my tjskii will accept these from me; at least for now |

Thats a problem I have too. Though he's promisd to leav the job when he's 5yrz on it and set up somethn else. I survive somehow because I have a lot to do some days and get home so tired. But marrying a man that works that way isnt my idea at all |

@ topic my sister has been married for 22 years, and if her man never worked off shore, self confessed they wouldn't be together all this time. The relationship is always renewed cause of missing each other, then the regular reunions. Keeps the love fresh. Which is only a good thing  |

If you dont look after your women and are never there somone else will. It never works unless the women is happy with the arrangement from before marriage. Relationships need time together at some point, not a part time or casual husband but might work for some women. Good luck! |

You're such a workaholic man, any woman who have been in such a situation will understand you,just keep your love growing ,be loyal to your wife while away and during your free time with her and your family make the best of it, it will surely work! IT IS JUST A MATTER OF UNDERSTANDING |

My ex-husband used to work hours like this. When he was home he was so tired he couldn't even stay awake to play with the kids. It got old quickly, but jobs are not easy to find these days. Especially ones that pay so well. Aside from having lots of money I was basically a single mom & it was tiresome. I believe it contributed much to our breaking up. My suggestion to you is that when the time comes try to reduce your hours some so that when you are home you have enough time to dedicate you your family. If that is not possible try to switch jobs/ careers to something compatible with having a wife & children. |

Erhh most of the people in my family are that way, even some of my friends. And nothing is wrong with their relationships/marriages . |

You will get married and be happy too if you find/marry the suitable woman. Some women can take care of the home all alone and don't need the man to be around 24/7, if you are married to such a woman it will be fun but if you marry the type that needs her man around her all the time, can't take decisions on her own then wahala dey. Just find a woman who understands and is able to cope. |
