This Kogi election reminds me of the 2007 Oyo State governorship election between Alao Akala, Ajimobi, and Taoreed Adedoja.

Ibadan votes were shared between the three so Adedibu simply moved all his machinery to Ogbomosho. The results from the two Ogbomosho local governments simply did the magic for Alao-Akala.

Same thing is happening in the Ebira local governments in Kogi. Bello really did his homework very well. He grabbed as much votes as he could in the Igala local governments, divided the votes from the Yoruba local governments almost evenly and retuned over 90% for himself in the Ebira local governments. That’s politics in display.

The Ebiras have always been united against Igalas. I almost got killed in 2006/7 while returning through Okene when Senator Ohiare ran against Ibro and Audu. It was operation kill Igalas.
