Cross flash isn't possible for AT&T devices since them at China don't want to leak the firehose which is needed to get into fastboot mode and AT&T won't release kdz files for their phones.

Other carriers except AT&T release their kdz which got img for OS upgrade.

In the case of AT&T, only option is flashing engineered bootloader, normal flashing or cross flashing (installing EU version of Android 10 in US G8) but it isn't possible because you'd get IMPL error (sign your LG device will be bricked).

Now for cross flash to be possible, there's a program/file needed called firehose.
Some people in China got their hands on it and won't leak or sell it for whatever reason.

The plan is to use the firehose to "nuke laf partition" to disable dm verity and enable you get into fastboot mode.

From there you begin your journey to flashing and tweaking.

What phone are you using, only way to get updates from AT&T is to get their sim either frm eBay or Amazon, then u ve to pay for international roaming which will cost in total $75

Only Sprint, Tmobile and Verizon releases updates through OTA, AT&T don't, except u have their sim card on in ur phone, that's why if u aren't living in the US pls avoid AT&T variants

I learnt this lesson on my S9 plus, but thank Goodness, Samsung's aren't that difficult to unlock but it cost me more cause I updated

U can go to Tmobile helpline to help you to unlock the g8 as long as the previous owner has finished paying up
