Those four places highlighted are no better than lower middle income places in saner climes.
Without tap water, no 24/7 electricity, traffic congestion, pollution, zero green space etc. Not forgetting annual flooding.

People woke up this morning only to discover that the whole neighborhood in Friends Colony Lekki Phase 2 have been flooded.

This shows that the 'rich also cry'. This is the state of Victoria Island Garden City VGC after rainfall in Lagos today. Reports have it that some major roads have been rendered inaccessible after being overtaken by raging floods in the area as road users and motorists lament.

According to reports, the early morning downpour in Lagos which resulted in heavy flooding in VGC caused heavy traffic from Mega Chicken to VGC leading to Ajah fly-over.

And so fuccking what? Lagos can never become like Dubai unless the government decides to become anti-poor by chasing away all poor people from the state. That will be wicked and inhuman.

What you have there is probably the best use of under bridge in Nigeria.

Under bridge in Nigeria is typically robbers’ den.

ARE YOUR POLITICIANS RESPONSIBLE FOR HOW YOU LITTER YOUR ENVIRONMENT, BLOCK DRAINAGES AND RUIN UNDER BRIDGES?

This is one of the reasons our country is not progressing. We need to call a spade a spade. What have our politicians put in place in the first instance to make the environment better? You talk about littering the environment, if our politicians do the needful by making life comfortable while they put in place right facilities, don't you think Nigeria will be better? Do you think the people in UAE are different from Nigerians? The only difference is that they have a working government while we have sick and self enriching politicians.

Tell me if employment is created for the masses rather than being left to hustle for living or if our politicians put in place better waste management facilities and make developmental works a priority. Will anyone in his right senses after seeing a neat and well manged system, still go ahead and litter the environment?

Please also tell me why the same Nigerians who go to other country will not even attempt or dare to litter the environment over there? It is simple the Politicians left us to do everything for ourselves and went about being deceptive on responsibilities.

A governor of a state simply because of making potable water accessible to rural areas, went about doing banners and bill boards on this achievement. Tell me, if this is not one of his responsibilities in the first instance?

I am tired of people passing blames on the citizens when the politicians themselves have not done enough in making ANYTHING better.

Lagos under bridge is looking almost like that of the Dubai. The difference is very little. We shall get there very soon.

Exactly my point too, even though our politician has their own lapses, we the citizens are the major cause of our problem. Take Lagos as case study, the ambode administration renovated almost all the under bridge in Lagos. Do some art designs for beautification and relaxation point. But my fellow country men will go there mess everything up. How is this a government fault. God knows I have not benefited from any politician. But this are my day to day observations.

AutoJoshNG:
When a flyover bridge is constructed, there are usually areas around them that are left unutilized. An example of such is the vacant space beneath the flyover.  These spaces are often either underutilized or used indiscriminately for parking of vehicles, etc.

These spaces under flyover bridges have immense potential. They can be developed into active space for public activities.  For instance, they can be transformed into recreational areas or well-organized car parks.

To achieve all these, the area under the flyover has to be illuminated, decorated with theme-based graffiti at certain spaces to create awareness for certain causes, etc.

These spaces can also be used to cultivate some vegetation or greenery. This will contribute to the ecology and environment and acts as a buffer to reduce air pollution as well as contribute to the aesthetics of the street in the day time.

In so many cities around the world, under flyover bridges has been used to achieve different public purposes.

In this article, Autojosh.com compares under some flyover bridges in Dubai, UAE and in Lagos, Nigeria.

Why are Nigerians so childish? Must we complain about everything? Gosh !! This is beyond stupid. What next? Photograph street headlamp just so you can trash talk Nigeria. Dobt you see how stupid and childish thjs post is? What a more troubling is it makes FrontPage.

That fucking bridge was built 6 years ago. ITS NEW. The Lagos bridge was built in theatre 70s you dimwit. Common sense should make you see why the comparison makes no sense. Anything new will surely be a much better improvement. Case in point the Ikoyi suspension bridge. It looks a generation better than 3rd Mainland bridge because the latter was built in the 70s and the former barely 7 years ago. Use your head nigger and stop this stupid topics designed to being ridicule on Nigeria. It's stupid and infantile.
