It is no news that in a bid to travel out of the country at all costs, many people have fallen victim of visa fraudsters and scammers. Obviously, a lot of people desire to just leave the shore of this country either in search of a greener pasture or for studies. Some others travel abroad for tourist purposes. Most often, those who desire to go abroad for studies or work are more desperate, probably to secure a better future for themselves and their families.

It is this desperation that usually makes them vulnerable to scammers because they are ready to fulfil all conditions given to them provided there is a promise of a successful visa, even when such a promise does not seem realistic.

It is unfortunate that many people are still wailing in the hands of individuals and
companies posing as travel agents/agencies but are fraudulent. Just as the saying goes that once beaten, twice shy, many people are scared of committing their hard-earned money into the hands of travel agents/agencies to process visa for them since they can longer tell who/which are genuine nowadays.

To avoid being defrauded as you process your visa, you may need to consider the following tips:

1. Find out from somebody who has gotten a Visa to the country you wish to visit, how he/she went about it or the agency that did it.

2. Visit the physical office to be sure it is an established agency which is not operating from just a kiosk.

3. Be sure it is an accredited and certified member of recognized travel agency bodies like NANTA or IATA or better still, with both.

4. Verify if they have a website and good social media presence with human faces that can be traced in case there is any issue of scam.

5. Beware when you are issued a visa at an excessively cheaper rate; although it may appear juicy, it may be fraudulent and regrettable in the long run.

Despite the bitter experience many people have had in the hands of visa fraudsters, the good news is that there are still genuine travel agencies. OneAir Global is a travel agency with a difference. At OneAir Global, they are honest and reliable, and their services are affordable.

It’s all about your trip.
