There has been a crazy rumour making the rounds that the Lekki Concession Company plans to increase the toll tariff on the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge by 100%. This means that cars that pay ₦300 will now pay ₦600. This rumour was further fuelled by an article in a newspaper.https://twitter.com/LCCTollRoad/status/1209484628333125635

What's actually happening on January 1st is that toll collection on the bridge will strictly be cashless and it is slightly cheaper to pay using the e-tag or Swiftpass card than it is to pay with cash. https://www.lcc.com.ng/tariffslist.asp 1 Like

It's only in a country like Nigeria you'd see this continuous extortion machinery in practice over the years and see nothing to show for it. If the Lagos govt could use all the money collected from the international airport toll transparently, you won't see no potholes on lagos roads. But we know these toll monies go into private pockets and to the coffers of privileged associations and parties. Sad. |
